Pokhara University was established in 1997 and is Nepal's fifth university. Its central office is located in Pokhara, Kaski District, Gandaki Province. Along with Purbanchal University, PU was formed as part of a government initiative to improve access to higher education. The Prime Minister of Nepal is the university chancellor and the Minister of Education is the pro-chancellor. The vice chancellor is the principal administrator of the university.
Mahendranagar officially known as Bhimdattanagar (Nepali:भिमदत्त), is a municipality in Kanchanpur District of Sudurpashchim Province, Nepal. The city and the municipality were named Mahendranagar in the honour of late King Mahendra of Nepal. After becoming a republic in 2008, the Mahendranagar municipality name was changed to Bhimdatta municipality in honour of the revolutionary farmer leader Bhimdatta Panta. It is surrounded by Bedkot Municipality in the east, Dadeldhura District in the north, Shuklaphanta National Park in the south and Uttarakhand, India in the west.
Gandaki Boarding School, , formerly known as Nepal Adarsha Bidyashram, is a model boarding school of Nepal, established on 11 June 1966 in the city of Pokhara, 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu. It is the first and the only regional school of the country. It was established as a result of the initiation of three groups - The United Mission to Nepal, The Shining Hospital, and the local community.
Saru Bhakta is the pen name of Bhakta Raj Shrestha, a celebrated Nepalese playwright, novelist, songwriter and poet and a winner of Madan Puraskar, one of the most prestigious literary awards in Nepal.
Waling Municipality, the heart of Syangja, is a small valley covered with hills formed on 27 January 1997 by merging of the then three VDCs namely Waling, Dhanubase and Pekhubaaghkhor. It is a town and municipality in the western hilly region of Nepal. It is in the Aadhikhola valley in Syangja District, Gandaki Zone of Nepal. Waling will be the first municipality to have houses all coloured with pink and will be named as Pink City. Waling has grabbed an award for the best municipality of the country.
Beni is a municipality and the district headquarters of Myagdi District in Gandaki Province, Nepal. Municipality was announced by merging the then Ratnechaur, Jyamrukot, Arthunge, Pulachaur, Singa village development committees since 18 May 2014.
Hemja is a former Village Development Committee in the north of Pokhara in Kaski District in the Gandaki Province of northern-central Nepal. In 2014, Hemja was annexed to Pokhara City as ward number 27. Hemja is now under Pokhara Municipality ward #25. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census, it had a population of 12,262 living in 3,019 households.
Salyan is a town and Village Development Committee in Kaski District in the Gandaki Zone of northern-central Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 3,254 persons living in 665 individual households.
Beldandi is a rural municipality in Kanchanpur District in Sudurpashchim Province of southwestern Nepal named after the former Village Development Committee. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census the VDC had a population of 9301 people living in 1483 individual households. According to the Nepal census 2011 the municipality had 3022 individual households and a population of 21,959. In the north and west, Beldandi is surrounded by Suklaphatha national park. To the east lies Belauri Municipality. On the south, it borders India.
Kawasoti (Nepali: कावासोती) is a municipality in Nawalpur District, Gandaki Province, Nepal. It is 31 km (19 mi) west of Bharatpur and 85 km (53 mi) east of Butwal, approximately on the middle of Mahendra Highway. The Naryani River flows south of it, and the Mahabharat Range is north of it.
Bardaghat [नेपाली: बर्दघाट] is a Municipality in Nawalparasi District in Lumbini Province, Nepal. It is situated in the lap of the Chure range. This municipality was established on 18 May 2014 by merging existing Makar and Panchanagar VDCs. Again during the local election, the neighbouring VDC Dawanne devi and some parts of Dhurkot, Jamuniya, and Rupauliya were merged. It has a population of 76,703 with an area of 162.05 km2. The population growth rate is 2.77%/per year. It has a LITERACY RATE of 82.05%. It is an emerging town of Nawalparasi District that is developing rapidly with tourist areas.
Gaindakot is a municipality in Nawalpur District in the Lumbini Zone of southern Nepal. It became a municipality in May 2014 by merging the existing Mukundapur, Amarapuri, and Gaindakot VDCs. It was again expanded by merging Ratanpur VDC. It is situated on the shore of Narayani River in the lap of Maula Kalika temple. So this place has a great possibility of tourism development. Paundur (पाउँदुर) is a central village in Kaski district of Gandaki Province of Nepal. It lies about 28 km west of the Pokhara valley and 38 km east of Kushma, Parbat. It is a part of ward no. 3 of Annapurna Gaupalika of Gandaki Province of Nepal, and was the ward no.5 and 8 of the former Dhikurpokhari VDC.It lies west of Nagdanda; nearest sub urban area. There are more than 100 houses in this village.
Kul Bahadur K.C. is one of the most significant Nepali poets. He is known for his well-rhymed poems that related to the social and economic problems of the common people who form the vast majority of the population in Nepal. He believed that the problems of the poor and the neediest had to be addressed at first so that they would be able to contribute to the sustained economic growth and the development of the country in the long run. He is known for his works "Mero Maato(मेरो माटो) from (Bijay Unmukh Achhyarharoo ", "Mutuka Jhilka ", "Garib Ustai Chha ", "Ashauch Bardaichhan Kabitaharoo ". "Poet Kul Bahadur KC was a patriot and naturalist poet, he wrote against the feudal, suppressing and exploiting nature prevalent in the society." said the contributors on the Memory book of Kul Bahadur KC
