The mid 2022 official estimate was originally stated to be 1,137,230, but was revised down to 1,097,504. The official estimate for mid 2023 was 1,108,487. Djarot Saiful Hidayat is an Indonesian politician who is currently a member of the People's Representative Council. He was the governor of Jakarta, in office between 15 June and 15 October 2017 after being acting governor since 9 May. He replaced his predecessor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama when the latter was found guilty of blasphemy against Islam. He was appointed by Basuki as Deputy Governor in 2014 to fill the gap left by the election of Joko Widodo as president.

Multipurpose Ansor Front, better known as Banser, is an Islamic militia organization based in Indonesia. It is a paramilitary wing of the youth organization Ansor Youth Movement affiliated with Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), the largest Islamic mass organization in the world. Banser operates as a semi-autonomous body of GP Ansor and mainly serves for the security and humanitarian operations. Combined personnel of Banser doubles the number for the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), making Banser a political heavyweight which holds the key to the national stability. Throughout the history, Banser had played major roles especially in issues related to religion, from the active participation in Indonesian mass killings of 1965–1966 against the perceived members of Indonesian Communist Party, to the more recent development of standoff against Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia. In terms of political orientation, Banser, along with GP Ansor, is characterized by traditionalist Islam, populism and nationalism.

The 2021 Liga 3 East Java was the sixth season of Liga 3 East Java as a qualifying round for the national round of the 2021–22 Liga 3.

The 2021–22 Pertiwi Cup is the seventh edition of Pertiwi Cup. The tournament started on 18 March 2022 and ended on 28 March 2022. All matches were played in Bandung, West Java. The tournament was organized by Indonesian Women's Football Association under supervision of PSSI.

Whisnu Sakti Buana was an Indonesian politician. He briefly served as the mayor of Surabaya between December 2020 and February 2021, mostly in an acting capacity to replace Tri Rismaharini for whom he had served under as vice-mayor of Surabaya between 2014 and 2015, and again between 2016 and 2020.
