Alec Gehard Olson is a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives, a former state senator, who served as the 40th Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota. He was born in Mamre Township in Kandiyohi County, Minnesota.
Peter Graham Olson is an American politician who served as the U.S. Representative for Texas's 22nd congressional district from 2009 to 2021. His district included much of southern Houston, as well as most of the city's southwestern suburbs such as Katy, Pearland, and Sugar Land. He is a member of the Republican Party. On July 25, 2019, Olson announced that he would retire at the end of his term. He was succeeded by fellow Republican Troy Nehls.

The incumbent United Australia Party led by Prime Minister of Australia Joseph Lyons with coalition partner the Country Party led by Earle Page defeated the opposition Australian Labor Party led by John Curtin. At the 1934 election nine seats in New South Wales were won by Lang Labor. Following the reunion of the two Labor parties in February 1936, these were held by their members as Labor seats at the 1937 election. With the party's win in Ballaarat and Gwydir, the Labor had a net gain of 11 seats compared with the previous election.

The 2012 congressional elections in Oklahoma were held on November 6, 2012, to determine who would represent the state of Oklahoma in the United States House of Representatives. Oklahoma has five seats in the House, apportioned according to the 2010 United States Census. Representatives are elected for two-year terms; those elected will serve in the 113th Congress from January 3, 2013, until January 3, 2015.
The 2014 United States House of Representatives elections in Iowa were held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, to elect the four U.S. Representatives from the state of Iowa, one from each of the state's four congressional districts. The elections coincided with the elections of other federal and state offices, including Governor of Iowa and United States Senate. Primary elections were held on June 4, 2014. As no candidate won more than 35% of the vote in the 3rd district Republican primary, that nomination was decided at a party convention on June 21.
Liz Olson is an American politician and member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. A member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), she represents District 7B in northeastern Minnesota. She became majority whip in 2019.
The 1936 United States Senate election in Minnesota took place on November 3, 1936. Incumbent Farmer–Laborite Elmer A. Benson, who had been temporarily appointed by Governor Floyd B. Olson in 1935 to fill the seat of the deceased Republican U.S. Senator Thomas D. Schall, opted to run for Governor rather than seek election to a full term or to fill the remainder of the unexpired term. Governor Olson won the Farmer–Labor primary for nomination to the full Senate term, but died of stomach cancer prior to the general election. In Olson's place, the Farmer–Labor Party ran U.S. Representative Ernest Lundeen, who went on to defeat former Governor Theodore Christianson of the Republican Party of Minnesota in the general election. A special election held on the same date elected Republican nominee Guy V. Howard to serve the remainder of Schall's unexpired term.

The elections coincided with the 2020 U.S. presidential election, as well as other elections to the House of Representatives, elections to the U.S. Senate and various state and local elections. Primaries were held on March 3 and run-offs were held on July 14.
Troy Edwin Nehls is an American politician and law enforcement officer who is the U.S. Representative for Texas's 22nd congressional district. From 2013 to 2021, he served as the sheriff for Fort Bend County, Texas. Nehls is a member of the Republican Party.
Kathryn C. "Kat" Cammack is an American politician and political advisor serving as the U.S. Representative for Florida's 3rd congressional district. Cammack previously served as deputy chief of staff to incumbent Congressman Ted Yoho, who announced that he would retire in 2020. Cammack is the third-youngest woman elected to Congress in the 2020 election cycle, behind Democrats Sara Jacobs and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
