The following lists power stations in East Timor.

The Hera power station was built to supply to the North coast of the country, while the Betano power station supplies electricity to the South coast and the Inur Sakato thermal power station provides electricity to the Oecusse District. [1]

Dili Capital and largest city of East Timor

Dili is the capital and largest city of East Timor. It lies on the northern coast of the island of Timor, in a small area of flat land hemmed in by mountains. The climate is tropical, with distinct wet and dry seasons. The city has served as the economic hub and chief port of what is now East Timor since its designation as the capital of Portuguese Timor in 1769. It also serves as the capital of the Dili Municipality, which includes some rural subdivisions in addition to the urban ones which make up the city itself. Dili's growing population is relatively youthful, being mostly of working age. The local language is Tetum, however residents include many internal migrants from other areas of the country.

Inter RAO Russian electricity company

Joint Stock Company Inter RAO UES, traded as, is a diversified energy holding company headquartered in Moscow, Russia. Its business includes power and heat generation, electricity supply, international energy trading, engineering, design and development of electric power infrastructure. In addition to its assets in Russia it controls several energy companies outside Russia including thermal and hydro power plants, grid operators and energy traders. It holds a monopoly on the export and import of electricity in Russia.

<i>Taymyr</i> (1987 icebreaker) Nuclear-powered shallow draft icebreaker

Taymyr is a shallow-draft nuclear-powered icebreaker, and the first of two similar vessels. She was built in 1989 for the Soviet Union in Finland, at the Helsinki Shipyard by Wärtsilä Marine, by order of the Murmansk Shipping Company. Her sister ship is Vaygach.

Energy in Uganda

Burning of renewable resources provides approximately 90 percent of the energy in Uganda, though the government is attempting to become energy self-sufficient. While much of the hydroelectric potential of the country is untapped, the government decision to expedite the creation of domestic petroleum capacity coupled with the discovery of large petroleum reserves holds the promise of a significant change in Uganda's status as an energy-importing country.

Vaygach is a shallow-draught nuclear-powered icebreaker. She was built in 1989 for the Soviet Union by Wärtsilä Marine Helsinki Shipyard in Finland by order of the Murmansk Shipping Company. Her sister ship is Taymyr.

Betano Place in Manufahi District, Timor-Leste

Betano is a village and suco in the southwest of Manufahi District, East Timor. In 2004, the suco had 4,577 inhabitants.

Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited Electricity board in Bihar, India

Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited (BSPHCL), formerly Bihar State Electricity Board (BSEB) is a state-owned electricity regulation board operating within the state of Bihar in India. BSEB was established in 1958 as a statutory corporation under the Electricity (Supply) Act, 1948. As of November 2012, BSEB has nearly 1,700 officers and 14,850 employees. The derated capacity comes to just 530 MW. The BSEB was unbundled on 2 August 2011. Power Finance Corporation was the main consultant for BSEB's restructuring.

The Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited (UEGCL) is a parastatal company whose primary purpose is to generate electric power for use in Uganda and for sale to neighboring countries. As of December 2017, UEGL's generation capacity was 380 megawatts, with that capacity planned to increase to over 1,300 megawatts, by 2023.

KivuWatt Power Station is a 26 MW (35,000 hp) methane gas-fired thermal power plant in Rwanda.

The Heladhanavi Power Station was a 100 MW thermal power station in Puttalam, Sri Lanka. The fuel oil-run power station was commissioned in August 2004, and was operated by Heladhanavi Limited, a subsidiary of Hemas Holdings. It was decommissioned in 2015 by request from the Ministry of Power and Energy. The power station consisted of six Wartsila 18V46 generation units of 17 MW each.

The Ace Matara Power Station is a 25-megawatt power station located in Matara, Sri Lanka. During its operations from 2002 to 2012, the plant utilized four 6.3 MWWärtsilä 18V32LN generating units. The plant was decommissioned in 2012 after its 10-year PPA expired and recommissioned in 2017.

Tsavo Thermal Power Station, also Kipevu II Thermal Power Station is a 75 MW (101,000 hp), heavy fuel oil-fired thermal power station in Kenya.

Laúca Hydroelectric Power Station Power station in Angola

The Lauca Hydroelectric Power Station is a 2,070 MW (2,775,916 hp) hydroelectric power plant, under construction in Angola. When completed, as expected in 2020, it will be the largest power station in the country.

Betano Power Station

The Betano Power Station is an oil power station located northeast of Betano, in the Manufahi District of East Timor. It was built to supply the South coast of East Timor with electricity, while the North coast is supplied by the Hera power station.

Ressano Garcia Thermal Power Station is a 175 MW (235,000 hp) natural gas-fired thermal power plant located in the town of Ressano Garcia in the Maputo Province of Mozambique.

The Syama Hybrid Power Station is a planned 70 megawatts hybrid power plant in Mali. The power station is being developed by Aggreko, a company that is based in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom, which supplies temporary power generation equipment. The off-taker is Syama Gold Mine, owned by Resolute Mining, that is based in Perth, Western Australia. The station has thermal, battery storage and solar energy components. Aggreko signed a 16-year agreement with the owners of the gold mine to design, build, operate and maintain this hybrid power station. Under the same agreement, Syra Gold Mine will purchase the electricity generated by the new hybrid plant, as specified in the power purchase agreement (PPA).

The Fekola Hybrid Power Station, is a 115 MW (154,000 hp) power plant in Mali. The power system comprises 68 MW of thermal energy, 30 MW of solar power and 17.3 MW of lithium ion battery energy storage. The power station is owned by B2Gold Corporation, a Canadian mining company. Dornier Suntrace GmbH and BayWa, two German engineering consulting and construction companies were hired to advise, design, build, operate and maintain this power station. The off-taker is the Fekola Gold Mine, in southwestern Mali, that is off-grid and is owned by B2Gold.
