Morlanwelz train collision and runaway

On 27 November 2017, a passenger train collided with a car on a level crossing at Morlanwelz, Hainaut, Belgium. Although nobody was injured in the accident and subsequent fire, during recovery operations, the train ran away for a distance of 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) and collided with a stationary passenger train at Strépy-Bracquegnies, Hainaut. Two people were killed and seven were injured.
