The city of San Jose, California, known for its height-limited downtown skyline due to its proximity to San Jose International Airport, has over 46 high-rises, mostly in downtown. [1] [2] Twenty-seven buildings stand taller than 200 feet (61 m). San Jose is the most populous city in the U.S. with no buildings over 300 feet (91 m). The next most populous city in the U.S. with no buildings over 300 feet is Fresno, California.

Sobrato Office Tower is a 17-story, class-A office building located at 488 Almaden Boulevard in San Jose, California. It is the fourth tallest building in the city. The building was completed in 2002 by the Sobrato Organization and remained unoccupied for nine years. Sobrato sold the building for $135 million to BEA Systems in 2007, which was itself later purchased by the building's present owner, Oracle.
