The Eurovision Song Contest 1992 was the 37th Eurovision Song Contest and was held on 9 May 1992 in Malmö, Sweden. The presenters were Lydia Capolicchio and Harald Treutiger. Linda Martin, representing Ireland, was the winner of this Eurovision with the song Why Me?. The song was written by Johnny Logan, who had won the 1980 contest as singer and the 1987 contest as singer/songwriter. At 41 years and 22 days of age, Linda Martin became the oldest woman ever to win Eurovision.
Malta has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 33 times since its debut in 1971. The contest is broadcast in Malta on the PBS channel, TVM. Malta has yet to win the contest, but is the only non-winning country to have achieved four top three results.
Malta’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 was "I Do" by Fabrizio Faniello. "I Do" has been described as a very up-tempo pop song that contains Swedish sounds. The song is written and composed by Aldo Spiteri and Fabrizio Faniello.
"Pia Prosefhi" was the Greek entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1995, performed in Greek by Elina Konstantopoulou.
"Amen" was the Israeli entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1995, performed in Hebrew by Liora.
Mary Spiteri is a Maltese singer, stage performer and television personality from Naxxar, Malta. She has participated in various national and international music festivals, one of which she came third when representing Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest. She is known for her support for the Labour Party in her home country.
"Teriazoume" was the Cypriot entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1992, performed in Greek by Evridiki.
"Could It Be" was the Maltese entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1991, performed in English by Georgina and Paul Giordimaina. This marked Malta's return to the contest since having withdrawn following the Eurovision Song Contest 1975.
"More than Love" was the Maltese entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1994, performed in English by Cristopher Scicluna & Moira Stafrace.
"Keep Me In Mind" was the Maltese entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1995, performed in English by Mike Spiteri.

Malta was represented by Olivia Lewis in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song "Vertigo". "Vertigo" has been described as an oriental flamenco pop song. The song was written by Gerard James Borg and composed by Philip Vella.
"Nei eða já" was the Icelandic entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1992, performed in Icelandic by Heart 2 Heart.
Malta continued their participation in the Eurovision Song Contest, entering the Eurovision Song Contest 1992 in Malmö, Sweden. The Maltese entry was Mary Spiteri with the song "Little Child", which came third at Eurovision, receiving 123 points.
Iceland sent Heart 2 Heart with the song "Nei eða já" to the Eurovision Song Contest 1992 in Malmö, Sweden, after they won the Icelandic national final.
Malta selected its entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 on February 2010 in The GO Malta EuroSong 2010 competition, organised by the Public Broadcasting Services (PBS), the Maltese broadcaster. At the final of the contest held on 20 February Thea Garrett was chosen by jury and televoting to represent Malta with the song "My Dream", written by Jason Paul Cassar and Sunny Aquilina.
Malta participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with the song "Breathlessly" written by Philip Vella, Sean Vella and Gerard James Borg. The song was performed by Claudia Faniello. The Maltese entry for the 2017 contest in Kyiv, Ukraine was selected through the national final Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2017, organised by the Maltese broadcaster Public Broadcasting Services (PBS). The competition consisted of a final held on 18 February 2017, where "Breathlessly" performed by Claudia Faniello eventually emerged as the winning entry after receiving the most votes from a public televote with 26% of the votes.
Malta participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the song "Chameleon" written by Joacim Persson, Paula Winger, Borislav Milanov and Johan Alkanäs. The song was performed by Michela Pace. The Maltese entry for the 2019 contest in Tel Aviv, Israel, was selected through the first season of the music competition X Factor Malta, organised by the Maltese broadcaster Public Broadcasting Services (PBS). The competition concluded with a final on 26 January 2019 where Michela Pace eventually emerged as the winner. The song Pace would perform at the Eurovision Song Contest, "Chameleon", was internally selected and was released to the public on 10 March.
Malta participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020, to be held in Warsaw, Poland. Maltese broadcaster Public Broadcasting Services (PBS) was responsible for the country's participation in the contest, and organised a national final to select the Maltese entry. Malta was represented in the contest by the song "Chasing Sunsets", written by Peter Borg, Aleandro Spiteri Monseigneur, Joe Roscoe and Emil Calleja Bayliss, and performed by Chanel Monseigneur. She achieved 8th place with 100 points.
Malta participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song "Je me casse" written by Malin Christin, Amanuel Dermont, Nicklas Eklund and Pete Barringer. The song was performed by Destiny Chukunyere, who was due to compete in the 2020 contest with "All of My Love" before the 2020 event's cancellation. The song Destiny would perform at the Eurovision Song Contest, "Je me casse", was also internally selected and was released to the public on 15 March.
