Motswedi Modiba (born 1997), [1] [2] is a South African R&B singer-songwriter born and raised in Tshwane best known under the alias of MOE. (stylized in all uppercase). She is best known for her debut single "It Was a Vibe" with guest appearance from JR which accumulated over 35 000 streams across Africa, the United States and Europe. [3]

In 2023, Modiba took home a Metro FM Music Award for Best New Age R&B Act, [4] [5] however the award was received by her parents as she was preparing for her exams at the Manhattan School of Music in the New York City. [6] After returning to South Africa, she furthered her studies at Wits University where she was also a back up singer for Dr Tumi. [3]

She is fluent in Mandarin as she attended a Chinese school in Pretoria and earned herself a scholarship to study Chinese literature in China. [3]

In 2023, Motswedi became the first black and African to compete in one of the biggest shows in China, Sing! China (Voice of China) where she sang in fluent Mandarin. [7]

Phendula is the second studio album by South African singer Zahara. It was released by TS Records on September 13, 2013. The album's production was primarily handled by Robbie Malinga and Mojalefa Thebe. It features guest appearances from Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Anele & Neliswa, Mzwakhe Mbuli, Mukengerwa Tresor Riziki and 2 Face Idibia. While studying law at the University of the Witwatersrand, she self-released her debut EP Elements in September 2019. The EP reached No. 1 on both the national iTunes and Apple Music album charts, making her the first independent female artist to do so.Elements was certified Platinum by RISA a year after its initial release and was nominated for Best R&B/Soul Album at the 26th South African Music Awards. Elaine was subsequently signed to Columbia Records in December 2020.

Busisiwe Thwala, is a South African singer-songwriter and actress prominently known under the alias of Cici who gained recognition in late 2015 subsequent to the release of her single "Runaway".
