SCIgen is a paper generator that uses context-free grammar to randomly generate nonsense in the form of computer science research papers. Its original data source was a collection of computer science papers downloaded from CiteSeer. All elements of the papers are formed, including graphs, diagrams, and citations. Created by scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, its stated aim is "to maximize amusement, rather than coherence." Originally created in 2005 to expose the lack of scrutiny of submissions to conferences, the generator subsequently became used, primarily by Chinese academics, to create large numbers of fraudulent conference submissions, leading to the retraction of 122 SCIgen generated papers and the creation of detection software to combat its use.

Besides various honors and awards, he has been a fellow of Academy of Sciences of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) is a program governed by the Government of Punjab to establish opportunities for the bright boys and girls students. It was started in 2008 by its chairman Shahbaz Sharif. It gives the scholarship to bright students which cannot afford their fees. The Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) is an initiative of the Government of Punjab. In order to make it more efficient, transparent and autonomous in its functioning, it is registered under section 42 of the Companies Ordinance, 1984. The company was registered on 31st Dec. 2008 and an initial endowment fund was established with a seed money of Rs.2 billion. The endowment fund has now been increased to Rs. 8 billion and the Government of Punjab, Pakistan has pledged to raise the endowment fund to Rs. 10 billion during the current FY 2012-13. Only the investment proceeds out of this fund are utilized for the award of scholarships. PEEF is established with the objective of providing scholarships to talented and needy students for pursuing quality education with equal opportunities. He worked as the chairman of the department of Mathematics, University of the Punjab (PU), Lahore for six years, i.e., from 2013-2019. Now, Sharif has been appointed as Dean, Faculty of Science at University of the Punjab. He is a Higher Education Commission (HEC) Distinguished National Professor. He has been awarded with the Izaz-Fazeelat and Tamgha-i-Imtiaz by the government of Pakistan.

The Act of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Engineering and Technology Multan was approved in 2014. The university is named after Nawaz Sharif.
The Khwaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology (KFUEIT) is a public university located in Rahim Yar Khan, Punjab, Pakistan. It was established in 2014 on the initiative of the then Chief Minister of Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. It was named after the famous Sufi poet Khwaja Ghulam Fareed.
Abd Allāh ibn ‘Abd ar-Raḥman Sirāj was an Arab politician and Islamic scholar who held various posts in the Kingdom of Hejaz and later the Emirate of Transjordan, including the office of Prime Minister of both countries. Born in Mecca, he graduated from Madrasah as-Sawlatiyah and later al-Azhar University in Cairo. In 1907 he was appointed Mufti of the Hanafis in Mecca by Sharif Ali Abd Allah. He was elected to represent Mecca in the Ottoman parliament in 1908, though he resigned before he ever served. After Sharif Husayn declared independence from the Ottoman Empire in 1916, he appointed Siraj as Chief Justice and Deputy Prime Minister of the Hejaz government. Siraj served as acting Prime Minister in lieu of Emir Ali until 1918. After Husayn abdicated the throne in 1924, Siraj held the office of Prime Minister during most of Ali's short reign, which ended with the Kingdom's surrender to the Saudi Sultanate of Nejd in 1925. He then migrated to the Jordan, where under Emir Abd Allah he served as Prime Minister from 1931 to 1933 while simultaneously holding the portfolios of Finance and the Interior Ministry, as well as the office of Chief Justice.
