Maracanã Station (Portuguese : Estação Maracanã), formerly known as Derby Club Station (Portuguese : Estação Derby Club), is a railway station in Maracanã, Rio de Janeiro which services the Maracanã Stadium. The station is serviced by the Rio de Janeiro Metro and SuperVia. [1] [2]

Maracanã is a middle-class neighborhood in the Northern Zone of Rio de Janeiro city. The Maracanã Stadium is located in this neighborhood, as well as the Ginásio do Maracanãzinho. Maracanã is bordered by these neighborhoods: Praça da Bandeira, Tijuca and Vila Isabel.

The Maracanã, officially Estádio Jornalista Mário Filho, is a football stadium in Rio de Janeiro. The stadium is part of a complex that includes an arena known by the name of Maracanãzinho, which means "The Little Maracanã" in Portuguese. Owned by the Rio de Janeiro state government, it is, as is the Maracanã neighborhood where it is located, named after the Rio Maracanã, a now canalized river in Rio de Janeiro.
