Marcus Cooper Walz Walz (born 3 October 1994) is a sprint canoeist. Born in the United Kingdom, he has competed internationally for Spain since the early 2010s. He won the gold medal in the K-1 1000 metres event at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. [2] He won the silver medal in the Men's K-4 500 metres event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo with Saúl Craviotto, Carlos Arévalo and Rodrigo Germade.

Born in Oxford to an American father and a British/German mother, the family established in Mallorca when Walz was 3 months old. [3]

On 26 June 2024, the Spanish Olympic Committee, choiced to Cooper with the olympic boat driver Támara Echegoyen as the flag bearers to the París 2024. [4]
