Matsue City FC (松江シティフットボールクラブ, Matsue Shiti Futtobōru Kurabu) is a football (soccer) club based in Matsue, which is located in Shimane Prefecture in Japan. They play in the Japan Football League.

History

Matsue City FC was founded on the basis of a precedent team, which already was playing in Chūgoku Soccer League, Vorador Matsue. [1] In 2011, the new-born club started their new activities to join Japanese professional football as soon as they could. An NPO corporation was made to manage the club and push towards J. League, while winning twice the Chūgoku Soccer League.

They also featured seven times in the Emperor's Cup, getting past the 1st round in 2015, 2017, 2018, 2020.

The 2020 Emperor's Cup was the 100th edition of the annual Japanese national football cup tournament. The tournament, originally scheduled to begin on 23 May, was rescheduled to begin on 16 September and ended with the final on 1 January 2021 at the National Stadium.
