Mayas-USA is a team of the World Basketball Association that began play in 2007. It is owned by the Liga Nacional Balonocesto Professional (the primary basketball league in Mexico)'s Mayas de Yucatan, and plays its games in Dallas, Texas. Mayas-USA defeated the Gwinnett Ravia-Rebels 114 to 104 in the 2007 league championship game.

Diana Lorena Taurasi is an American professional basketball player for the Phoenix Mercury of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) and UMMC Ekaterinburg of Russia. Taurasi has won three WNBA championships, one WNBA Most Valuable Player Award (2009), two WNBA Finals MVP Awards, four Olympic gold medals,, five scoring titles, and the WNBA Rookie of the Year Award (2004). She has also been selected to seven WNBA All-Star teams and nine All-WNBA teams. She is one of 10 women to win an Olympic Gold Medal, an NCAA Championship and a WNBA Championship. In 2011, she was voted by fans as one of the WNBA's Top 15 Players of All Time. On June 18, 2017, Taurasi became the WNBA all-time leading scorer.
Suzanne Brigit Bird is an American-Israeli professional basketball player for the Seattle Storm of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Bird was the first overall pick of the 2002 WNBA Draft. She holds a front office position for the NBA's Denver Nuggets as their Basketball Operations Associate. She also played for multiple basketball teams outside the United States.

Richard Douglas "Doug" Bruno is the head coach of the DePaul Blue Demons women's basketball team. In 2016, he completed his 30th season as head coach. In 2007, Bruno completed a two-year term as President of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association, a position to which he was elected by his peers. Under his tenure, the Blue Demons have qualified for post-season competition play in 21 of his 30 seasons, including the last 14 seasons.
Kelly Elizabeth Faris is an American professional basketball player who last played for Breiðablik of the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild kvenna. She was drafted 11th overall by the Connecticut Sun in the 2013 WNBA Draft. Faris played shooting guard for the Connecticut women's basketball team,and won two national championships in 2010 and 2013. She was on a post-season championship team for five consecutive seasons, including four consecutive high school state championships and one NCAA championship.

Tyler Deon Honeycutt was an American professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the UCLA Bruins, where he earned first-team all-conference honors in the Pac-10 as a sophomore in 2011. Honeycutt was selected by the Sacramento Kings in the second round of the 2011 NBA draft. He played with the Kings for two seasons and in 2013 moved to Europe, where he played for EuroLeague clubs Khimki and Anadolu Efes. He committed suicide at age 27 following a shootout with police.
The Women's National Basketball Association's Top 15 Players of All Time were chosen in 2011 on the occasion of the fifteenth season of the WNBA from amongst 30 nominees compiled by the league by fan, media, coach, and player voting. The group was to comprise the 15 best and most influential players of the first fifteen years of the WNBA, with consideration also accorded to sportsmanship, community service, leadership, and contribution to the growth of women's basketball; only players to have competed in the WNBA were eligible, but extra-league achievements were considered.
Breanna Mackenzie Stewart is an American professional basketball player for the Seattle Storm of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Stewart was the first overall pick in the 2016 WNBA Draft. In high school, she was the National Gatorade Player of the Year, the Gatorade Female Athlete of the Year, and a McDonald's All-American. Stewart played forward for the University of Connecticut (UConn) Huskies women's basketball team. She led the Huskies to four national championships, was named the Final Four's most outstanding player a record four times, and was a three-time consensus national player of the year. Prior to her first WNBA game, Stewart signed a multi-year endorsement deal with Nike. She was the 2016 WNBA Rookie of the Year, is a two-time All-Star, and was named the WNBA MVP in 2018.
