Men's Football at the 2017 Island Games forms part of the Football at the 2017 Island Games event, and is the fifteenth edition of the Games in which the sport has been played. [1]
The XVII Island Games was held in Gotland, Sweden, from 24 June to 30 June 2017. This was the second time that the island has hosted the games, the first being in 1999.
The 2017 Island Games in Gotland is the fifteenth edition in which an association football tournament was played at the multi-games competition and the ninth Women's tournament.
The Alderney official football team is the official football team representing Alderney in non-FIFA international football. They play their home matches at Arsenal Ground. They are not affiliated with FIFA or UEFA. The Falkland Islands official football team is a representative football team of the Falkland Islands, organised by the Falkland Islands Football League. The Falkland Islands Football League does not belong to the CONMEBOL, as its member countries support Argentina in the sovereignty conflict, and therefore neither can be a member of FIFA. Thus, the team is not eligible to play in official competitions such as the World Cup and the Copa América. The team has played in the Island Games in 2001, 2005, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017. In 2013 the team enjoyed a record win and a 3rd place medal. The Frøya official football team is the official football team for the Norwegian municipality of Frøya in Trøndelag county. They are not affiliated with FIFA or UEFA. Frøya is a member of the International Island Games Association and has taken part in Football at the Island Games. | The Isle of Man Representative County football team is the IOMFA football team of the Isle of Man and is controlled by the Isle of Man Football Association. The team plays in a yellow and red home kit and an all navy blue away kit. The Jersey official football team represents the British Crown Dependency of Jersey in non-FIFA international matches. The Orkney football team is the representative football team for the islands of Orkney, Scotland. They are not affiliated with FIFA or UEFA. The team regularly competes in the Island Games and has a strong rivalry with the representative teams of Shetland and Caithness. |

Gotland is a province, county, municipality, and diocese of Sweden. It is Sweden's largest island. The province includes the islands of Fårö and Gotska Sandön to the north, as well as the Karlsö Islands to the west. The population is 58,595, of which about 23,600 live in Visby, the main town. The island of Gotland and the other areas of the province of Gotland make up less than one percent of Sweden's total land area.
The Gotland National Conscription was a Swedish Army infantry regiment that traced its origins back to the 19th century. It was split into two new regiments in 1887. The regiment's soldiers were recruited on the island of Gotland.
The 1999 Island Games on the island of Gotland was the 6th edition in which a men's football (soccer) tournament was played at the multi-games competition. It was contested by 14 teams.

Snoderån is a 32 km (20 mi) long river on Gotland, Sweden. Snoderån basin has an area of 183.3 km2 (70.8 sq mi) and it has a total area of 240 km2 (93 sq mi), which represents about 8% of Gotland's area. 17 socken's are situated wholly or partly within the basin and comprises of: Alva, Burs, Fardhem, Fröjel, Gerum, Hablingbo, Havdhem, Hejde, Hemse, Klinte, Levide, Linde, Lojsta, Rone, Silte, Sproge and Stånga. Snoderån has its source in the Lojsta area and two outflows to the west into the Baltic Sea at Kvarnåkershamn in Sproge and Silte.
Dalhem IF is a Swedish football club located in Dalhem on the island of Gotland.
Gutavallen is an outdoor sport stadium located in Visby, Sweden. It was opened on 27 May 1927 and is used for football as well as athletics, but occasionally the arena is also used for concerts. Gutavallen is the home arena of FC Gute and Visby AIK.
