The Ministry of Planning and Infrastructure (Portuguese : Ministro do Planeamento e Infraestruturas), formerly Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communications (Ministério das Obras Públicas, Transportes e Comunicações or MOPTC) is a Portuguese government ministry. It has its head office in Lisbon. [1]

Portuguese language Romance language that originated in Portugal

Portuguese is a Western Romance language originating in the Iberian Peninsula. It is the sole official language of Portugal, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Angola, and São Tomé and Príncipe. It also has co-official language status in East Timor, Equatorial Guinea and Macau in China. As the result of expansion during colonial times, a cultural presence of Portuguese and Portuguese creole speakers are also found in Goa, Daman and Diu in India; in Batticaloa on the east coast of Sri Lanka; in the Indonesian island of Flores; in the Malacca state of Malaysia; and the ABC islands in the Caribbean where Papiamento is spoken, while Cape Verdean Creole is the most widely spoken Portuguese-based Creole. Reintegrationists maintain that Galician is not a separate language, but a dialect of Portuguese. A Portuguese-speaking person or nation is referred to as "Lusophone" (Lusófono).

The Government of Portugal is one of the four sovereignty bodies of the Portuguese Republic, together with the President of the Republic, the Assembly of the Republic and the courts. It is both the body of sovereignty that conducts the general politics of the country and the superior body of the Portuguese public administration.

The westernmost areas of its metro area form the westernmost point of Continental Europe, which is known as Cabo da Roca, located in the Sintra Mountains.

Carmo Convent (Lisbon) Church in Lisbon, Portugal

The Convent of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is a former Catholic convent located in the civil parish of Santa Maria Maior, municipality of Lisbon, Portugal. The medieval convent was ruined during the sequence of the 1755 Lisbon earthquake, and the destroyed Gothic Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel on the southern facade of the convent is the main trace of the great earthquake still visible in the old city.

Ministry of Public Works (Chile)

The Ministry of Public Works is the cabinet-level administrative office in charge of "planning, directing, controlling and building the public infrastructure, as well as the conservation and management of them" within Chile. It is also responsible for the "management, distribution, use and conservation" of all the water resources within the country. They answer directly to the President of Chile. Since March 11, 2018, the Minister of Public Works is Mr Juan Andrés Fontaine Talavera and his Under-secretary is Mr Lucas Palacios.

The Aviation Accidents Prevention and Investigation Department is the Portuguese aviation accident and incident investigation authority. The agency is headquartered in Lisbon. It is subordinate to the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communications.

Junta Investigadora de Accidentes de Aviación Civil was the civil aviation accident investigation agency of Venezuela. The JIAAC had its headquarters in Chacao, Caracas, Miranda State. Before its closure, it was an organization under the Ministry of Transport and Communications. It was originally the Comité de Investigación de Accidentes Aéreos. Previously the JIAAC was an independent authority of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing. That Ministry was known as the Ministerio del Poder Popular para la Infraestructura from January 2007 to March 2009, and was previously the Ministerio para la Infraestructura. Lorllys Ramos Acevedo was the final director of the JIAAC.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications of Venezuela was created in June 2010, to cover transport and communications in Venezuela. Its creation saw the disappearance of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, split into this ministry and the Ministerio del Poder Popular para Vivienda y Hábitat. Its headquarters were in the Torre MTC in Chacao, Caracas, Miranda. In November 2011 Hugo Chávez, President of Venezuela, announced that the MTC would be divided into two ministries, the Ministry of Aquatic and Air Transport and the Ministry of Ground Transport.

The Ministry of Public Works and Housing was a ministry of the Venezuelan government until June 2010.

Alfândega Porto Congress Centre

The Porto Customshouse Congress Centre is a convention centre and former-customshouse situated in the civil parish in Cedofeita, Santo Ildefonso, Sé, Miragaia, São Nicolau e Vitória, in the northern Portuguese municipality of Porto. The building is located in the historic centre of the city, along the bank of the Douro River, and was renovated under the direction of the Pritzker-awarded architect Eduardo Souto de Moura. It is part of the Museum of Transport and Communication, founded on 21 February 1992, as a non-profit institution comprising 56 individual associates and 25 institutional associates.
