Mohamed Amanissi (born July 29, 1981) is a Moroccan boxer who qualified for the 2008 Olympics at Super Heavyweight.

At the 2005 World Championships he lost against Mike Wilson 20:27, in 2007 he lost to Czech Vladimir Prusa 16:22. At the first qualifier 2008 he lost to local Newfel Ouatah 8:21. In the final of the second Qualification tournament he beat fellow qualifier Onorede Ehwareme 10:2.

Newfel Ouatah is a French–Algerian pro boxer best known to for his amateur success. He won a Gold medal of 2007 African Championship in Tananarive (Madagascar) at super heavyweight, a silver medal at the All African Games in Algiers and fought at the 2008 Olympics. Ouatah's the cousin of French football player Karim Benzema, Newfel's and Karim's families are from the same town in Algeria. He's also a cousin of famous Algerian singer Hanifa.
Onorede Ehwareme also Onorede Ohwarieme is an amateur boxer from Nigeria. He qualified for the 2008 Summer Olympics in the super heavyweight division.
The 1st AIBA African 2004 Olympic Boxing Qualifying Tournament was held in Casablanca, Morocco from January 15 to January 22, 2004. It was the first chance for amateur boxers from Africa to qualify for the 2004 Summer Olympics since the 2003 All-Africa Games. First and second place qualified for the Olympic Tournament in Athens, Greece, except for the heavyweight and super heavyweight events, which only qualified for first place. A total of 89 fighters from 18 countries competed.
