M. Mohan is an Indian director of Malayalam films. Mohan has done several notable acclaimed films including Pakshe , Isabella , Oru Katha Oru Nunnakkatha , Idavela , Vida Parayum Munpe , Randu Penkuttikal and Shalini Ente Koottukari . He has scripted five films, Angene Oru Avadhikkalathu, Mukham , Sruthi , Alolam and Vida Parayum Munpe , and wrote the story of two films, Ithile Iniyum Varu and Kathayariyathe .

Mohan's association with screenwriter John Paul has always spawned critically and commercially successful films. [1] He has also associated with master writer Padmarajan in the films Idavela, Kochu Kochu Thettukal and Shalini Ente Koottukari. He predominantly worked during the 1980s, the golden era of Malayalam cinema. [2]

Personal life

Mohan was born in Irinjalakuda and married to actress Anupama, the heroine of his movie Randu Penkuttikal . [3] The couple have two sons Purandar Mohan & Upendhar Mohan. [4]

She also received three Kerala State Film Awards: for Best Actress (1978), Best Supporting Actress (1977) and Best Child Artist (1971); and two Filmfare Awards South for Best Actress in Kannada (1978) and Tamil (1979) films. Considered one of the finest talents to have emerged in the Indian film world, her promising career was unexpectedly cut short as she committed suicide in 1980, due to unknown reasons. Her popularity resulted in considerable public scrutiny of the events that led to her death and also various conspiracy theories. The 1983 Malayalam film Lekhayude Maranam Oru Flashback is supposedly based on her life and death.

Vida Parayum Munpe is a 1981 Malayalam-language drama film directed by Mohan, written by John Paul and produced by Innocent and David Kachappilli. The film stars Prem Nazir and Nedumudi Venu in lead roles, while Lakshmi, Innocent, Bharath Gopy, and Sankaradi play supporting roles. The film is a loose adaptation of the Hrishikesh Mukherjee's 1971 Anand, which was itself an adaptation of Akira Kurosawa's 1952 classic Ikiru.

Chalappurathu Raveendranatha Menon, popularly known as Ravi Menon, was a veteran Indian film actor who worked in Malayalam cinema. He was born in Sreekrishnapuram, Palakkad in 1950. He graduated from the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune and made his debut in the Malayalam movie Nirmalyam, for which he received the state government special jury award. He was nominated for Best Actor for his role in Mani Kaul's Duvidha. His notable movies includes Shalini Ente Koottukari, Shyama, Kilukkam, and Minnaram. He acted in more than 50 Malayalam movies.

M. D. Rajendran is a malayalam poet ,lyricist and novelist. His father Ponkunnam Damodaran was a poet and activist. His siblings, M D Rathnamma and M D Ajayaghosh are also writers in malayalam. He was employed with All India Radio and retired from service in 2012. He has written lyrics for nearly 40 malayalam films. He has also composed music for a few films as well as albums. His collection of songs are published as a book titled ' Nin Thumbu Kettiyitta Churul Mudiyil'. His debut film as a lyricist was Mochanam in 1979. His famous works include Shalini Ente Koottukari composed by Devarajan and Devaragam directed by Bharathan, composed by academy award winner M M Keeravani.

She underwent treatment for throat cancer before her death on 28 November 2017 at the age of 65.

Sathyakala is an Indian actress in South Indian movies. She was a prominent lead actress during the late 1970s and 1980s in Malayalam films. She had acted in few Tamil films as well.

P. K. Joseph was an Indian film director in Malayalam movies. He had directed 16 Malayalam movies. He died in 1990.
