Montserrat Gil Torne (born 9 December 1966) is an Andorran politician in the Liberal Party of Andorra (PLA). Until the 2009 general election she served as Minister for Health, Social Welfare and Family [1] and is a member of the National Executive Committee of the PLA. [2]
Andorra, officially the Principality of Andorra, is a sovereign landlocked microstate on the Iberian Peninsula, in the eastern Pyrenees, bordered by France to the north and Spain to the south. Believed to have been created by Charlemagne, Andorra was ruled by the count of Urgell until 988, when it was transferred to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Urgell. From Arinsal to Camp de Refuge is considered moderate meanwhile the last 862 m is considered to be difficult. Several mountain lakes and tarns are found on the slopes, notably Estanys de Baiau, which lies on the western slopes, across the Spanish border.
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons in Andorra may face some legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents. Civil unions, which grant all the benefits of marriage including adoption, have been recognized since 2014, and discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation is constitutionally banned. However, same-sex marriage is currently not recognized in Andorra.

Parliamentary elections were held in Andorra on 26 April 2009, the fourth under the 1993 Constitution. The elections were held at the end of the normal four-year term of the General Council, but also following months of intense pressure from Co-Prince Nicolas Sarkozy to change the country's banking secrecy laws.
The 2010 Catalan regional election was held on Sunday, 28 November 2010, to elect the 9th Parliament of the autonomous community of Catalonia. All 135 seats in the Parliament were up for election. Andorra has a monetary agreement with the EU allowing it to make the euro its official currency, and permitting it to issue euro coins from 1 July 2013. The COVID-19 pandemic in Andorra is part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. The virus was confirmed to have reached Andorra on 2 March 2020, when a 20-year-old man returned to the country from Milan, Italy. With a total population of 77,543, on 7 December 2020, the infection rate was 1 case per 11 inhabitants, and the death rate was 1 case per 994 inhabitants.
Àngel Pla was a Spanish-born Andorran wood carver specializing in traditional Catholic art and polychrome, especially the Virgin Mary. Pla operated his workshop in the old town of Andorra la Vella from 1970 until shortly before his death. According to Ràdio i Televisió d'Andorra, Pla was one of the few remaining professional woodcarvers and artisans working in Andorra.
