History
Launched in 1998 as Deseret Online by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mstar began as a provider of value-added IP-based services to the Church’s educational institutions around the world.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, often informally known as the LDS Church or Mormon Church, is a nontrinitarian, Christian restorationist church that is considered by its members to be the restoration of the original church founded by Jesus Christ. The church is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah in the United States, and has established congregations and built temples worldwide. According to the church, it has over 16 million members and 65,000 full-time volunteer missionaries. In 2012, the National Council of Churches ranked the church as the fourth-largest Christian denomination in the United States, with over 6.5 million members reported by the church, as of January 2018. It is the largest denomination in the Latter Day Saint movement founded by Joseph Smith during the period of religious revival known as the Second Great Awakening.
In June 2002, the company was acquired by Chicago Venture Partners, L.P. (CVP) a private equity investment firm which specializes in buyouts, late stage growth equity investments and private investment in public equity (PIPES).
A private investment in public equity, often called a PIPE deal, involves the selling of publicly traded common shares or some form of preferred stock or convertible security to private investors. It is an allocation of shares in a public company not through a public offering in a stock exchange. PIPE deals are part of the primary market. In the U.S., a PIPE offering may be registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on a registration statement or may be completed as an unregistered private placement.
In June 2004, Mstar purchased Burgoyne Internet Services and nearly doubled its audience base. In March 2005, Mstar became the first company to launch services over the fiber to the premises (FTTP) network owned by UTOPIA.
In May 2009, Mstar was acquired by Prime Time Communications, a facilities based provider of IPTV, VoIP and Internet services in Denver, Colorado. Prime Time brought a much expanded HD lineup, MPEG4 video, updated IPTV middle-ware platform and in-house Broadworks VoIP platform.

Triple play focuses on a supplier convergence rather than solving technical issues or a common standard. However, standards like G.hn might deliver all these services on a common technology.
Access Communications is a Canadian cable television and internet service provider, operating in Regina, Saskatchewan and several other communities in Saskatchewan. It was previously known as Regina Cablevision Co-operative. Dial-up Internet service was first offered in September 1995. Cable modem broadband service followed in 1997. On February 7, 2007, Access Communications launched its primary line telephone service in Regina in direct competition with Saskatchewan's government-owned ILEC, SaskTel. On July 1, 2009, Access became Saskatchewan's largest cable provider with the purchase of Persona Cable's operations in Saskatchewan.
