History
Music Force Europe is a reincarnation of TVC, Greece's first 24-hour music channel. TVC (TV Chidira) began operating out in Lesbos back in 1993. In opposition to TMF and MTV Dance, it is not country-localized and depicts all the subgenres of electronic and dance music: trance, house, Italo disco, disco, eurohouse, progressive, dance, electro, breakbeat, chill out, drum and bass, eurodance, garage, eurobeat, uplifting, italo, lounge, techno, or old skool.
Chidira is a village on the Greek island of Lesbos, located at its western part and belonging to the municipality of Eresos-Antissa. Its population was 472 in 2011. Chidira borders with the villages Agra, Mesotopos, Eresos, Antissa, Revma, Pterounda and Vatousa.

It is separated from Turkey by the narrow Mytilini Strait and in late Palaeolithic/Mesolithic times was joined to the Anatolian mainland before the end of the last glacial period.
The Music Factory (TMF) was an originally Dutch brand of television and radio channels operated focusing on pop music. It was similar to the American MTV which took over TMF in 2001.
Europop is a style of pop music that originated in Europe during the late 1960s and developed to today's form throughout the late 1970s. Europop topped the charts throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Many successful Europop artists came from Belgium, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
Television broadcasting in Greece began in 1966 and this was preceded in 1951 by statute 1963 permitting television broadcasting.
Eurobeat refers to two styles of dance music that originated in Europe: one is a British variant of Euro disco influenced by dance-pop, and the other is a Hi-NRG-driven form of Italo disco. Both developed in the 1980s.
Italo house is a form of house music originating in Italy. Typically popular in Italy, Britain and United States since the late 1980s, it fuses house music and Italo disco. The genre's main musical characteristic is its use of predominantly electronic piano chords in a more lyrical form than classic Chicago house records. The best known example is Black Box's "Ride on Time", but the genre became very popular in the late 1980s and early 1990s for the uplifting and anthemic tunes against the background of indie-dance.
Funky house is a subgenre of house music that uses funk samples, a funk-inspired bass line or a strong soul influence, combined with drum breaks that draw inspiration from 1970s and 1980s funk records. The use of disco strings are also common in the genre, although not always. Funky house uses specific techniques and specific sound, characterized by bassline, swooshes, swirls and other synthesized sounds which give the music a bouncy tempo with around 128 BPM.
Italo disco is a form of disco music originating in Italy and was mainly produced from the late 1970s to the late 1980s. Italo disco evolved from the then-current dance music and developed into a diverse genre. The genre employs drum machines, synthesizers, and occasionally vocoders and was usually sung in English, and to a lesser extent, in Italian and/or other European languages as well.
Disco polo is a genre of popular dance music, created in Poland in the late 1980s, initially known as sidewalk music or backyard music. It is an urban folk music, popular in the mid-late 1990s, with its popularity peaking around 1995–1997. Language Dictionary Polish Publishing PWN defines the genre as a Polish variant of disco music, with simple melodies, and often indecent lyrics.
Julie Dorne Brown, better known as Downtown Julie Brown, is a London–born actress, television personality, SiriusXM DJ and former MTV VJ. Brown is best known as the host of the television music show Club MTV which ran from 1987 until 1992.
Valerie Dore ) is an Italo disco artist. The brainchild of producers Lino Nicolosi & Roberto Gasparini, the first singles Dore recorded between 1984 and 1986 featured different studio vocalists, including Novecento's Dora Nicolosi, Simona Zanini. Thereafter, Stucchi herself voiced her recordings and did all public appearances.
Euro disco is the variety of European forms of electronic dance music that evolved from disco in the later 1970s; incorporating elements of pop, new wave and rock into a disco-like continuous dance atmosphere. Many Euro disco compositions feature lyrics sung in English, although the singers often share a different mother tongue.
Kano was an Italo disco music project formed in Milan, Italy in 1979 by producers/musicians Luciano Ninzatti, Stefano Pulga and Matteo Bonsanto.
Flaunt was a British electronic dance music TV channel owned and operated by CSC Media Group. It played music videos from the dance, techno, trance, disco, eurodance, house & upbeat pop genres 24/7. It launched on 17 April 2003 and ceased broadcasting on 17 March 2010.
Dance music is music composed specifically to facilitate or accompany dancing. It can be either a whole musical piece or part of a larger musical arrangement. In terms of performance, the major categories are live dance music and recorded dance music. While there exist attestations of the combination of dance and music in ancient times, the earliest Western dance music that we can still reproduce with a degree of certainty are the surviving medieval dances. In the Baroque period, the major dance styles were noble court dances. In the classical music era, the minuet was frequently used as a third movement, although in this context it would not accompany any dancing. The waltz also arose later in the classical era. Both remained part of the romantic music period, which also saw the rise of various other nationalistic dance forms like the barcarolle, mazurka, ecossaise, ballade and polonaise.
Nu-disco is a 21st-century dance music genre associated with a renewed interest in 1970s US disco as well as synthesizer-heavy 1980s European dance music styles. The genre was especially popular in the mid 2000s, and experienced another small resurgence in the early to mid 2010s.
Space disco is the fusion of disco music with futuristic themes, sounds and visuals, a genre that became popular in the late 1970s. The main idea behind the genre is that of an exploration of the wonders of outer space by humans, and many bands often included robotic shapes, laser illumination and computer screen sequences in their live performances. The artists themselves often dressed in a manner inspired by glam rock and somewhat futuristic fashion. It has some thematic similarities to space rock, space funk and electronic soul.
Italo dance, also known as nu Italo disco, nu-Italo or just Italo, is an offshoot of the Eurodance music genre, which was especially popular in Europe in the late 1990s to the early 2000s.
Post-disco is a term to describe an aftermath in popular music history circa 1979–1986, imprecisely beginning with an unprecedented backlash against disco music in the United States, leading to civil unrest and a riot in Chicago known as the Disco Demolition Night on July 12, 1979, and indistinctly ending with the mainstream appearance of house music in the late 1980s. Disco during its dying stage displayed an increasingly electronic character that soon served as a stepping stone to new wave, old-school hip hop, euro disco and was succeeded by an underground club music called hi-NRG, which was its direct continuation.
Severino "Severo" Lombardoni was a music producer in Italy. He was founder and owner of Discomagic S.r.l and is known as a pioneer of Italo disco and Italo Dance music.
TVC News is a Nigerian 24-hour television news channel owned by Continental Broadcasting Service Nigeria Ltd. Now TVC Communications based in Lagos. From its inception the network promoted itself as the "first Pan-African news agency" with plans to open offices in Johannesburg, Nairobi, Accra and Dakar. The channel airs on British Sky Broadcasting Group Plc (BSKYb) in the UK, Naspers Ltd. (NPN)’s DStv and Startimes in Nigeria, and Multi TV in Ghana.
