The MYX Music Awards is an accolade presented by the cable channel Myx to honor the biggest hitmakers in the Philippines. The awards ceremony is held annually and occurs most commonly in March, and broadcast delayed on Myx. MYX viewers from all over the Philippines decide the winners in 17 major categories via SMS text messaging by 2010 it is 60% fan votes through internet and 40% artists votes.
Myx is a Filipino pay TV channel based in Quezon City. The channel is targeted to youth audiences with music video as its primary content. It was introduced on free-to air television through the now-defunct television network Studio 23 in 2000. Some of the programs of Myx was shown on Studio 23 during early morning, afternoon and late evening blocks. In 2002, Myx was launched as a stand-alone 24-hour music channel on cable. On February 28, 2007, an American counterpart was created to cater the Asian-American community in United States. Myx is notable for showing the lyrics as the music video plays which was adapted from video karaoke, a popular pastime in Asia. Since 2006, Myx has given the annual Myx Music Awards to the most influential personalities in the Philippine music industry.

The Apolinario Mabini Hiking Society, later popularly known as APO Hiking Society, or simply APO, was a Filipino musical group. Contrary to popular belief, the "Apo" name was not a reference to the Philippines's highest peak, the potentially-active stratovolcano Mount Apo.
Edgardo Jose "Gary" Santiago Valenciano, also known as Gary V. and Mr. Pure Energy, is a multi-awarded Filipino-Puerto Rican, singer-songwriter, musician, actor, music producer and TV host.
