The MYX Music Awards is an accolade presented by the cable channel Myx to honor the biggest hitmakers in the Philippines. The awards ceremony is held annually and occurs most commonly in March, and broadcast delayed on Myx. MYX viewers from all over the Philippines decide the winners in 17 major categories via SMS text messaging by 2010 it is 60% fan votes through internet and 40% artists votes.

Myx Music channel in the Philippines

Myx is a Filipino pay TV channel based in Quezon City. The channel is targeted to youth audiences with music video as its primary content. It was introduced on free-to air television through the now-defunct television network Studio 23 in 2000. Some of the programs of Myx was shown on Studio 23 during early morning, afternoon and late evening blocks. In 2002, Myx was launched as a stand-alone 24-hour music channel on cable. On February 28, 2007, an American counterpart was created to cater the Asian-American community in United States. Myx is notable for showing the lyrics as the music video plays which was adapted from video karaoke, a popular pastime in Asia. Since 2006, Myx has given the annual Myx Music Awards to the most influential personalities in the Philippine music industry.

Sarah Asher Tua Geronimo is a Filipino singer, actress, model, dancer, and brand ambassador. Born and raised in Santa Cruz, Manila, Geronimo started a career in music at the age of 14 after winning the television singing contest Star for a Night. She then signed with music label Viva Records and rose to fame with the release of her debut album Popstar: A Dream Come True (2003) which became a multi-platinum record. Her contributions to music, television and film made her one of the most celebrated Filipino entertainers of the 2000s and 2010s.

The Myx Music Award for Favorite Song is one of the awards handed out at the yearly Myx Music Awards. It was first awarded in 2006 and presented to Cueshé for their song Stay. Gloc-9 and Sarah Geronimo are the only artists to win the award more than once.

The Myx Music Award for Favorite International Music Video is one of the awards handed out at the yearly Myx Music Award. It was first awarded in 2006 and presented to The Pussycat Dolls for their song Don't Cha. The Wonder Girls, Super Junior, 2NE1 and BTS are the only K-pop act to be nominated in this category. A separate category was made to honor K-pop artists. Super Junior was first winning k-pop artist. One Direction was first winning British artist. Taylor Swift is the most awarded artist in this category.

The MYX Magna Award is given annually to honor a music icon’s exemplary contribution to the industry.

The MYX Magna Award is a special award presented annually by Myx. It was first awarded at the first Myx Music Awards in 2006; Sharon Cuneta won the award, and it is given in honor of a music icon with an exemplary contribution in the Philippine music industry.

Sharon Gamboa Cuneta-Pangilinan is a Filipino singer, actress, talk show host, commercial ad endorser and a reality show judge.

The Apolinario Mabini Hiking Society, later popularly known as APO Hiking Society, or simply APO, was a Filipino musical group. The group had its fledgling beginnings in 1969 at the Ateneo de Manila high school, with 15 members: John Paul Micayabas, Lito de Joya, Sonny Santiago, Gus Cosio, Renato Garcia, Chito Kintanar, Kenny Barton, Bruce Brown, Butch Dans, Kinjo Sawada, Ric Segreto, Goff Macaraeg, Doden Besa, Jim Paredes, and Boboy Garovillo. The group's name was created from the acronym AMHS representing their school with a witty twist having an irreverent reference to the paralyzed Philippine revolutionary intellectual and hero, Apolinario Mabini, and later shortened to "Apo", an Ilocano term for a wise man or a Tagalog term of grandchildren, and later re-branded to "APO". Contrary to popular belief, the "Apo" name was not a reference to the Philippines's highest peak, the potentially-active stratovolcano Mount Apo.

Edgardo Jose "Gary" Santiago Valenciano, also known as Gary V. and Mr. Pure Energy, is a multi-awarded Filipino-Puerto Rican, singer-songwriter, musician, actor, music producer and TV host. Valenciano has released 39 albums, and won the Awit Awards for "Best Male Performer" twelve times. In 1998, he became UNICEF Philippines' first National Ambassador, a title he continues to hold.

Myx Music Awards 2014 is the 9th installment of the Myx Music Awards. Just like the MMA 2012 and MMA 2013, fans can vote online through Myx website, Facebook and Twitter. Awards night was held on March 26, 2014. Gloc-9 leads other artists of having the most number of nominations with seven nominations. The song "Magda" won four awards making Gloc-9 and Rico Blanco the biggest winners of the awards night.
