Gobalakrishnan Nagapan (born 23 March 1960),commonly referred to as N. Gobalakrishnan,is a Malaysian politician. [1] He was the Member of the Parliament of Malaysia for the Padang Serai constituency in Kedah from 2008 to 2013. He was elected to the Parliament as a member of the People's Justice Party (PKR) in the opposition Pakatan Rakyat coalition,but in 2011 left the party to sit as an Independent. [2] Gobalakrishnan on 8 May 2017 rejoined back Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) after leaving it 18 years ago to join PKR. [3]
Gobalakrishnan was born in 1960 in Sitiawan. He is married to Vasanthi Ramalingam,a former athlete,and has three children. [4]
In September 2009,Gobalakrishnan was arrested for allegedly using criminal force to obstruct a police officer. [5] He was found guilty and fined 3,000 ringgit. [6] In December 2010,he spoke out against his party's leader,Anwar Ibrahim,suggesting that he make way for his daughter Nurul Izzah Anwar. [7] He resigned from the party the following month to sit as an independent,announcing plans to form a non-governmental organisation. [8] He recontested Padang Serai at the 2013 election as an Independent,having unsuccessfully sought the nomination of the Barisan Nasional coalition. Without a party ticket he garnered less than one percent of the vote and lost his deposit. [9] [10]
In April 2019,the Putrajaya Court of Appeal ruled Gobalakrishnan has to pay RM150,000 in damages for defaming and RM5,000 in costs to lawyer and former Malaysian Bar president Manjeet Singh Dhillon. [11]

Dato' Seri Mohamed Nazri bin Abdul Aziz is a Malaysian politician who served as the Minister of Tourism and Culture,Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of legal affairs,Minister of Entrepreneur Development,Deputy Minister of Finance I and Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Ministers Mahathir Mohamad,Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Najib Razak as well as former Ministers Abang Abu Bakar,Anwar Ibrahim,Mahathir Mohamad,Mustapa Mohamed and Daim Zainuddin from May 1995 to the collapse of the BN administration in May 2018. He has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Padang Rengas since March 2004. He is an alumnus of Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK). He is a member and Division Chairman of Padang Rengas of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO),a component party of the ruling BN coalition which is aligned with another ruling Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition. However,on 12 January 2021,he publicly and personally announced his withdrawal of support and he was no longer aligned with PN as an MP although his coalition is,resulting in collapse of the PN administration led by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin after PN lost the majority support by commanding the support of only 109 out of 220 MPs in the Dewan Rakyat,Parliament. His withdrawal of support was the third one from his coalition after the withdrawals of support of Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah and Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub. But in July 2021,he publicaly said he supported back the Perikatan Nasional government that led by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
