Namibia at the T20 World Cup

The Namibia national cricket team is one of the associate members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), they are nicknamed as the Eagles. The team qualified for their first T20 World Cup in 2021, after finishing at 4th position in the 2019 qualifier, they have qualified for tournament three times in a row since then. In three editions that they have contested, the team has 4 wins in 11 matches.

In their maiden appearance, the team advanced from the first round into the Super 12 stage. They also managed to register their first-ever victory against a full member nation, after defeating Ireland in the first round. [1] In the next edition, they defeated Sri Lanka, once again in the first round but were unable to progress to the next stage. [2]

Ben Shikongo is a Namibian cricketer. He made his first-class debut for Namibia in the 2017–18 Sunfoil 3-Day Cup on 8 February 2018. He was previously named in Namibia's squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He made his List A debut for Namibia in the 2017–18 CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge on 11 February 2018.

The 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two was an international cricket tournament that took place in April 2019 in Namibia. It was contested by six teams; Canada, Hong Kong, Oman, Papua New Guinea, the United States and tournament hosts Namibia. It formed part of the 2017–19 cycle of the World Cricket League (WCL) which determined the qualification for the 2023 Cricket World Cup. The final and third-place playoff match were granted One Day International (ODI) status by the International Cricket Council. Namibia won the tournament, after they beat Oman by 145 runs in the final. It was Namibia's first win in an ODI match, and it was the first ever ODI match played by Oman.

The 2018–19 ICC T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier was the tournament played as part of qualification process for the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup.

The 2022 United Arab Emirates Tri-Nation Series was the 9th round of the 2019–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 cricket tournament that took place in the United Arab Emirates in March 2022. Originally scheduled to take place in December 2021, it was moved to March 2022 due to fixtures impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic being rearranged.

The 2021 Namibia Tri-Nation Series was the 8th round of the 2019–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 cricket tournament that took place in Namibia in November and December 2021. It was a tri-nation series between Namibia, Oman and the United Arab Emirates cricket teams, with the matches played as One Day International (ODI) fixtures. The ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 formed part of the qualification pathway to the 2023 Cricket World Cup. Two matches that were postponed during the 4th round in January 2020 were added to the schedule of this series. JJ Smit was named as Namibia's captain for the series, after regular captain Gerhard Erasmus was ruled out after breaking a finger during the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

The Uganda cricket team toured Namibia in April 2021 to play a three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series and two 50-over matches. All of the matches were played at the Wanderers Cricket Ground in Windhoek.

The 2021 Summer T20 Bash was a series of Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket matches played in the United Arab Emirates in October 2021 between Ireland, Namibia, Papua New Guinea, Scotland and the United Arab Emirates. The UAE played one match against Namibia and three matches against Ireland, Scotland played one match against Namibia and one against Papua New Guinea, and Papua New Guinea and Namibia played one match against each other. The matches were used as preparation for the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
