Narayan Jagannath High School

The NJV (Narayan Jagannath High School) School is named after Maharaj Jagan Nath Vaidya. According to the Gazetteer of the Province Sindh, Karachi District (compiled by J.W. Smith, published by Indus Publications), NJV Government Higher Secondary School is the first public school of Sindh. It was inaugurated in October, 1855. The first batch had 68 students.

Being the first educational institute of the province, the school has certainly played a vital role in providing the people of Sindh with the services of education. It has remained a center of learning and curricular activities. The school has seen its days of glory and fame. Many renowned and successful politicians and scholars have acquired their higher secondary education from this school.

The school also has historical importance owing to the fact that after partition, the Sindh provincial assembly convened in its building. Housed in a beautiful historic yellow sandstone building, NJV is one of the 600 buildings listed as a heritage site.

Some of the well-known students of the school include Amar Jaleel (a famous Sindhi literato), Pir Mazharul Haq (the former provincial education minister), Shafi Muhammad Jamot (current provincial legislator), and Hassan Mansoor (a renowned journalist). Hashmat Tehelram Keval Ramani, a famous personality in Sindh, also studied here once.

In 2015, the Sindh government stepped up to revive the NJV school to its original grandeur physically and academically by entrusting and working alongside Akhuwat in maintaining the quality education free of charge. Akhuwat is working for the community since 2001 and providing interest free micro finance to the underserved communities, it has projects like Akhuwat University, Clothes Bank, Khwajasirah Support Program, Health and other Education initiatives. After adoption Akhuwat is working tirelessly to transform the face of public education in Sindh. From the state of art facilities to quality education, the change is visible.

The objective is to restore the school to its original grandeur to transform the underprivileged community and provide to them holistic education and support. Over 1200 students from KG till Grade 12 are studying are for free.

It also provides first ever live in hostel facility to students from different areas of Interior Sindh, currently 62 young boys and girls are studying with us. Students are nurtured with different life skills to give them a 360-degree integrated model of learning and develop critical thinking. Alongside education, students are engaged in activities like photography, theatre, gardening, football, table tennis, chess, scrabble, web designing, arts and cooking too. The aim is to nurture their minds and enable free thinking ability to make them future leaders of tomorrow.

Education in Egypt

Higher education in British Columbia

With a history of serving the academic and business communities, Ilma University has more than 1500 alumni in multinational companies, local private sector organizations, government sector departmentsm and NGOs.

Paragon International University, formerly known as Zaman University from 2010 to 2018, is a private university located in Phnom Penh city, Cambodia.

Higher education in Myanmar

Higher education in Myanmar has experienced a large expansion since 1988, although ranks as one of the lowest globally for universities. Due to the student protests in the 8888 uprising, the Myanmar government closed down universities for two years. Additional student protests in 1996 and 1998 caused universities to be closed for another 3 years.

Green Crescent Trust (GCT) is a non-profit organization in Sindh, Pakistan that focuses on education and development. It was established in 1995 by group of people with just one goal: making a better Pakistan through education. It started out with just one school and handful of students in Karachi.
