Narinder Biba (Punjabi : ਨਰਿੰਦਰ ਬੀਬਾ) was a very well known Punjabi singer from Punjab, India. [2] She is known for singing Punjabi folklores, love romances of Punjab like Mirza Sahiban, Sassi Punnun and Sikh historical moments like Saka Sirhind and many more. [2]

Family and career

Biba was married to Jaspal Singh Sodhi. She is regarded as a respectful folk artist from 1960s to 1990s up to the end of her career. She started her career with singer Jagat Singh Jagga. She recorded duets songs as well with Punjabi singers Harcharan Grewal, Muhammad Sadiq, Didar Sandhu, Karnail Gill, Ranbir Singh Rana, Gurcharan Pohli, Faqir Singh Faqirs. She recorded songs penned by lyricist such as Dev Tharikewala, Babu Singh Maan and Inderjeet Hasanpuri among others.

In every September in Sadiqpur village, a fair, Narinder Biba Yaadgari Sabhiacharak Mela, is organised by the Doaba Sabhiacharak club in her memory. [3]

Muhammad Sadiq is an Indian Punjabi-language singer, actor and politician from Punjab, India. He is best known for his duets with singer Ranjit Kaur. He is the current Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha for Faridkot, Punjab constituency. He was the Congress party MLA from Bhadaur in Punjab from 2012 to 2017.

Ik Tara, also spelled as Iktara or sometimes Ektara', was the first LP record of Kuldeep Manak released by HMV in 1976. It was released after about one year of recording as the record manager of HMV, Zaheer Ahmad, delayed its release as he was frightened the record would not do well in the market.

Most of her recording is found with Karamjit Dhuri with whom she performed in live shows for the longest time as well.

Harcharan Garewal was an Indian singer of Punjabi-language folk songs and duets. He is known for his songs like Tota Pee Gia Bullan Di Laali, and duets with Surinder Kaur like Lakk Hille Majajan Jaandi Da, Main Vi Jatt Ludhiane Da, Aa Gia Wanjara Ni Charha Lai Bhabi Churhian and with Seema like Mittran De Tubewell 'te. Many Punjabi singers used to accompany him on stage with music instruments or so before releasing their own records including Kuldeep Manak.

Amninderpal Singh Virk, better known as Ammy Virk, is an Indian singer, actor and producer who works in Punjabi and Hindi films. He started the production house Villagers Film Studio and a distribution company In House Group. He is best known for playing the role of Nikka in Nikka Zaildar series, Shivjit in Qismat, Harjeet Singh in Harjeeta, and Haakam in Angrej.

Satwant Kaur is an Indian film and television actress who works in Indian films. She started her career through Punjabi music videos, television soap operas and telefilms in the earlier days and ended up appearing in the films. She is known for her portrayals in movies like Ik Jind Ik Jaan (2006), Singh Is Kinng (2008), Majaajan (2008), Ardaas (2016), Dev D (2009), Udta Punjab (2016), TV Serial Kach Diyan Wanga and Gurdas Maan's video song Pind Dian Galian etc., along with many others.
