Shin Neung-kyun (born 1939), also known as Nelson Shin, is an animation director who is the founder and president of Akom Production Co., Ltd., in Seoul, South Korea. He founded Akom in 1985.
In the 1970s, Shin worked as an animator at the DePatie–Freleng Enterprises and Marvel Productions, where he worked on the Pink Panther films and Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends . While at DFE, he also contributed to the animation of the lightsaber blades in the original Star Wars . [2]
Much of the animation Shin's studio has produced has been for American television series. Some of Akom's credits are: The Simpsons , Batman: The Animated Series , X-Men , Invasion America and Arthur . Shin's most well-known accomplishment is his direction of the television series The Transformers and The Transformers: The Movie . Shin also directed the first season of the Canadian animated TV series, Toad Patrol .
Beginning in 1999, Shin worked on the animated feature film Empress Chung . The film was largely animated in North Korea, and in August 2005 became the first movie ever to open simultaneously in North and South Korea.
In 2009, he was elected president of the International Animated Film Association, a post he held through 2012. [3]

The Transformers: The Movie is a 1986 animated science fiction action film based on the Transformers television series. It was released in North America on August 8, 1986, and in the United Kingdom on December 12, 1986. It was co-produced and directed by Nelson Shin, who also produced the television series. The screenplay was written by Ron Friedman, who created Bionic Six a year later.

The Christmas special "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire" premiered in its place on December 17, 1989. It is the last episode to feature the original opening sequence starting from "Bart the Genius". In the episode, Homer and Marge go on a night out while leaving the children under the care of a diabolical babysitter named Ms. Lucille "Botz" Botzcowski.

Sunbow Entertainment was an American animation studio and distributor, founded on June 23, 1980, and owned until May 4, 1998, by Griffin-Bacal Advertising in New York City and in the United States. Maggie Simpson in "The Longest Daycare" or simply The Longest Daycare, is a 2012 American animated 3D comedy short film based on the animated television series The Simpsons. In the film, Maggie Simpson is enrolled at a new daycare facility where she squares off with the foul-tempered Baby Gerald when she befriends a caterpillar. The short originated with Simpsons producer James L. Brooks, who enlisted long-time veteran of the series David Silverman to direct the film. The picture was written by producers Brooks, Al Jean, David Mirkin, writers Michael Price and Joel H. Cohen, as well as the show's creator Matt Groening, who also produced the short.
