The Faroe Islands, or the Faeroe Islands, is a North Atlantic archipelago located 200 miles (320 km) north-northwest of the United Kingdom and about halfway between Norway and Iceland—are an autonomous country of the Kingdom of Denmark. Total area is about 1,400 square kilometres (540 sq mi) with a population of 50,322 in October 2017.

Kristian Blak Faroese composer

Kristian Blak, originally from Fredericia, Denmark, lives in the Faroe Islands where he is a composer, musician, and record executive. He is the founder of the Nordic musical ensemble Yggdrasil. He has worked with sounds in the Faroese nature in several compositions. These include concerts in caves and other natural "concert halls" in the Faroe Islands. He has composed solo instrumental works, chamber music, choral works and symphonic music, for example the ballad Harra Pætur og Elinborg. In 2010 Queen Margrethe of Denmark visited the Faroe Islands, and one of the events she visited was a grotto concert in Klæmintsgjógv by Kristian Blak and other musicians. The cave is 50 meter high and the sea in the cave is around 400 meter deep. There are some places inside the cave where the musicians can stand with their instruments and give a concert to the audience in the boats.

The Faroese media consists of several newspapers, radio stations, magazines, as well as a local TV station, Kringvarp Føroya.

Tvøroyrar Bóltfelag is a Faroese football club from Tvøroyri, currently playing in the Effodeildin, the top tier of Faroese football. TB Tvøroyri is the oldest football club in the Faroe Islands, and also one of the oldest in the Danish Realm, in which the Faroe Islands are a self-governing country.

Other short films and music videos directed by á Heygum include Aldur (Waves) and Sigarett. He is also known for directing the music videos "True Love" and "Rain" by Eivør and Aldan reyð" by ORKA. The music video True Love sung by Eivør and directed by Heiðrik was nominated for the Berlin Music Video Awards 2014.

FC Suðuroy association football club

FC Suðuroy is a Faroese football club which was founded in January 2010 and consists currently of the former clubs VB and Sumba, which merged in 2005 to form VB/Sumba. FC Suðuroy's first team in the men's championship competes in the 1. deild in 2014. All teams play their home games at the á Eiðinum Stadium in Vágur. The club logo was designed by the photographer Rógvi Nolsøe Johansen in 2010, the same year he won the competition to design a logo for the club.

Royn Hvalba association football club

Royn Hvalba or Bóltfelagið Royn, or just Royn, is a Faroese football and sports association from Hvalba in Suðuroy, founded 23 October 1923. The Chairman for Royn Hvalba is Gunnhild Mortensen. Manager is Eyðun Gullok Svalbard. Royn has a team in the Faroese second division. Royn also has teams for girls and boys, in 2012 they had a team for girls under 12, a team for boys U8 and one for boys U10. Royn and TB Tvøroyri now have a new manager for all the youth teams of the two clubs. Men over 35 have their own team. The women had their own team earlier. Royn is one of three football associations in the island Suðuroy. The other two football clubs are FC Suðuroy with base in Vágur and TB Tvøroyri from Tvøroyri. Royn Hvalba plays its home matches on the football field in Hvalba, which is a grass field.

John Ryan until 1999 named John Ryan Hansen is a Faroese former international footballer who played as a midfielder. Hansen spent his entire club career with KÍ Klaksvík. He played three matches for the Faroe Islands national football team from 1992 to 1999.

TB/FC Suðuroy/Royn Faroese football club

TB/FC Suðuroy/Royn was a Faroese football club based in Trongisvágur. The team was a result of a merger between all three clubs from the island of Suðuroy: Tvøroyrar Bóltfelag, FC Suðuroy and Royn Hvalba. The agreement about the merger was so late that there was not enough time to find a new name and identity for the club, so the name was a combination of all three names of the clubs. The name was too long to use, so the media started to use the word Suðuroyarliðið instead, which means The team from Suðuroy and the supporters and the chairmen had agreed upon using the word Suðringar, which means People of Suðuroy.

Krista Mørkøre is a Faroe Islander swimmer, who competed at the 2016 Summer Paralympics as the only member of her country's delegation.
