Norge Idag (literally "Norway Today") is a Norwegian Christian conservative weekly newspaper published in Bergen. In cooperation with the television channel Visjon Norge, Norge Idag bought former cinema Forum Kino on Danmarksplass in Bergen which are also used as the newspaper's offices. The editor-in-chief is Finn Jarle Sæle.
Among the editorial positions taken by the newspaper is opposition to legalizing gay marriage and gay adoption. The paper also served as a mouthpiece for Jan-Aage Torp when he encouraged Christians to use directed prayer in order to oust gays from positions of power. [1]

The Church of Norway is an evangelical Lutheran denomination of Protestant Christianity and by far the largest Christian church in Norway. The church became the state church of Norway around 1020, and was established as a separate church intimately integrated with the state as a result of the Lutheran reformation in Denmark–Norway which broke ties with the Holy See in 1536–1537; the King of Norway was the church's head from 1537 to 2012. Oscar Fredrik Torp was a Norwegian politician for the Norwegian Labour Party. He was party leader from 1923 to 1945, and mayor of Oslo in 1935 and 1936. In 1935 he became the acting minister of Defence in the government of Johan Nygaardsvold. He was also the minister of Social Affairs from 1936 to 1939, and then the minister of Finance from 1939 to 1942. He was appointed Minister of Defence again in 1942 in the London-based Norwegian exile government. He continued until the election in 1945 when he became the minister of Provisioning and Reconstruction until 1948.

Visjon Norge is a Norwegian Christian television station, which was launched in 2003 as the first Scandinavian Christian television channel to air 24 hours a day. Stop Islamisation of Norway is a Norwegian anti-Muslim group that was established in 2008, although its history goes back to a group started in 2000. Kronstad is a neighbourhood in the borough of Årstad in the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the northern part of the borough, south of the large Store Lungegårdsvannet bay, east of the neighborhood of Solheim, north of Minde, west of Landås, and west of Møllendal and Haukeland. The neighbourhood was named after the old Kronstad farm, which was formerly known as "Hunstad". After the vicar of Bergen Cathedral purchased the farm in 1705, the name was changed to "Cronstad" which later changed to Kronstad.

The Deanery of Strandebarm, also known as the "Church of Norway in Exile", was an independent conservative Lutheran deanery in Norway established in 1991 by priests who broke ties with the state church, the Church of Norway; in 1997 they claimed the status of a diocese. It functioned as a network of priests and congregations led by Børre Knudsen, Per Kørner and Ludvig Nessa who rejected what they claimed was the liberal direction of the Church of Norway. Finn Jarle Sæle is a Norwegian editor, activist, theologian and former priest. Sæle is the editor of the Bergen-based Christian conservative weekly newspaper Norge Idag, which he founded after he was fired as editor of the Christian newspaper Dagen in 1999 due to internal conflicts, a position he held since 1985.
