The United States Armor Association is a non-profit organization with over 6,000 members dedicated to disseminating knowledge of the military art and sciences, with special attention to mobility in ground warfare.
The United States Army (USA) is the land warfare service branch of the United States Armed Forces. In 1986 the United States Armor Association began an awards program to honor the very best of America's tankers and troopers. The Saint George Award program provides the mounted force with a way to recognize outstanding performers, their spouses (Order of St. Joan D'Arc) and Armor Force supporters (Noble Patron of Armor Award).
The Order of Saint George Medallion is the top award given to members of the Army's mounted force by the United States Armor Association of the United States Army. The award is issued as a black, bronze, silver, or gold medallion, depending on the recipient's eligibility. As of June 2017, a total of 76 Gold OSGs and 4 Gold NPAs had been awarded, and a total of just over 10,000 medallions of all types.
The Noble Patron of Armor award is the top award given to supporters of the Army's mounted force by the United States Armor Association of the United States Army.
The Order of St. Joan D'Arc Medallion is conferred to honor people, generally spouses, who have voluntarily made contributions of great significance to the morale, welfare, and spirit of armor and cavalry units in the United States Army. The unit commander must compile and submit a nomination packet, which is performed without the knowledge of the potential recipient.

The 2nd Armored Division was an armored division of the United States Army. The division played an important role during World War II in the invasions of North Africa and Sicily and the liberation of France, Belgium, and the Netherlands and the invasion of Germany. The 3rd Field Artillery Regiment is a field artillery regiment of the United States Army, first formed in 1812, although regimental units trace their lineages as far back as 1794. Based on the service of these antecedents, the regiment claims battle honors for the War of 1812, the Seminole campaign, the Mexican War, the Civil War, the Spanish–American War, and the Philippine Insurrection.
