Oulainen railway station is located in the center of the town of Oulainen, Northern Ostrobothnia, Finland. [1] The station has three platforms each with designated boarding areas, a ticket vending machine, car parking and a bicycle stand. [2] It was opened in 1886.[ citation needed ]

The Lapponia was an express passenger train operated by the Finnish State Railways, the predecessor of the current national rail traffic operator VR Group. The Lapponia trains operated on a direct route from Oulu via Seinäjoki and Tampere to Helsinki. Southbound Lapponia trains departed from Oulu at 7:00am, arriving in Helsinki at approximately 2:00pm. The returning northbound train left Helsinki at 4:00pm, arriving in Oulu at 10:45pm.

CNR Radio or CN Radio was the first national radio network in North America. It was developed, owned and operated by the Canadian National Railway between 1923 and 1932 to provide en route entertainment and information for its train passengers.
