Patrick Paauwe (born 27 December 1975) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a defender. [1]
Paauwe played as a defender in the past but for Feyenoord Rotterdam as a defensive midfielder role. Other teams he served are PSV Eindhoven, De Graafschap, Fortuna Sittard, Valenciennes FC and VVV Venlo. Paauwe is a one-time winner of the Dutch Eredivisie (in 1999) and the UEFA Cup (in 2002), both with Feyenoord. After two years with Borussia Mönchengladbach, he returned to his native Netherlands and signed for VVV-Venlo. He retired from professional football on 31 January 2011.
Paauwe has been capped five times by the Netherlands national team.
His brother Cees Paauwe is also a former professional footballer.

VVV-Venlo is a Dutch football club from Venlo, a city on the border with Germany. They play in the Eerste Divisie, the second tier of Dutch football, following relegation from the Eredivisie in the 2020–21 season. The club plays its home games in the Covebo Stadion – De Koel stadium, which is named after one of the club's sponsors Covebo Uitzendgroep. VVV's home colours are yellow and black.

The 2015–16 season was Feyenoord's 108th season of play, it marked its 60th season in the Eredivisie and its 94th consecutive season in the top flight of Dutch football. It was the first season with manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst, a former player who played seven seasons for Feyenoord and who played 106 times for Dutch national team. The club started the season relatively well alternating between the second and third place until the halfway point of the season. They then hit a seven-game losing streak among a nine-game stretch without a win and dropped to seventh place. They followed this up with a six-game winning streak to get back to the third position for the final stretch of the season. They ended the season third in the league. Feyenoord entered the KNVB Cup in the second round. They started their campaign by beating both finalist of the 2013–14 edition. They were coupled to past cup winners in all their cup matches and beat FC Utrecht 2–1 in the final. The cup win qualified them to the group stage of the 2016–17 UEFA Europa League.
