Badminton racquet sport

Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" and "doubles". Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court.

St Peters Church, Fleetwood Church in Lancashire, England

St Peter's Church is in the seaside town of Fleetwood, Lancashire, England, situated on the Fylde coast. It is an active Anglican parish church in the Diocese of Blackburn. It was completed in 1841, to a design by Decimus Burton. Burton had been employed by Peter Hesketh-Fleetwood in 1836 to lay out the new planned town of Fleetwood. It is protected as a Grade II listed building.

Dean of Blackburn

The Dean of Blackburn is the head and chair of the chapter of canons, the ruling body of Blackburn Cathedral. The dean and chapter are based at the Cathedral Church of Blackburn St Mary the Virgin with St Paul in Blackburn. Before 2000 the post was designated as a provost, which was then the equivalent of a dean at most English cathedrals. The cathedral is the mother church of the Diocese of Blackburn and seat of the Bishop of Blackburn.

He started playing badminton in Southwell Junior Badminton Club at age 8, and became the England national badminton team at age 19. In 2007, he won the European Junior Badminton Championships in the boys' doubles event with Chris Adcock. Blackburn graduated from the Ballarat University College with a Diploma in Teaching in 1991. He was awarded the Hollioake Medallion in 1991, 1994 and 1995 for his outstanding contribution to sport in the City of Ballarat, and in 1999 he was named Ballarat Sportsperson of the Year.
