Peter John Gibbs (born 1958) is a former BBC Weather forecaster, who appeared regularly on BBC News, BBC World News and BBC Radio, particularly BBC Radio Four. He previously worked on the BBC News at One , BBC News at Six , BBC News at Ten and BBC Breakfast . He left the BBC on 9 December 2016.
Gibbs was born in Sunderland, and brought up in Kendal, attending Kendal Grammar School. He graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1979 with an Honours degree in Physics and Geography. He started work at the British Antarctic Survey in Cambridge. He worked at the British Halley Research Station on the Brunt Ice Shelf for two years from October 1979 where he made routine observations of the weather and helped to maintain the base.
When he returned to the UK in May 1982 he joined the Met Office where he spent a year as a weather forecaster in training. He spent several years forecasting at RAF Honington in Suffolk and on the Benbecula island in the Outer Hebrides, where he forecast for the Army missile range on South Uist before moving to the Norwich Weather Centre in 1989.
His television debut as a forecaster was with BBC Norwich's Look East in 1993, and he moved to the BBC Weather Centre to join the BBC World team in October 1997. He began forecasting for other BBC channels in November 1998 and he now broadcasts across all BBC channels. He often hosts Gardeners' Question Time on Radio 4. He presented his final weather bulletin on BBC Radio 4 on Friday 9 December 2016.
He was made an honorary Doctor of Laws by the University of Leeds in July 2018. [1]

It broadcasts a wide variety of spoken-word programmes, including news, drama, comedy, science and history from the BBC's headquarters at Broadcasting House, London. It replaced the BBC Home Service in 1967. The station controller is Mohit Bakaya.
The Shipping Forecast is a BBC Radio broadcast of weather reports and forecasts for the seas around the coasts of the British Isles. It is produced by the Met Office and broadcast by BBC Radio 4 on behalf of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. The forecasts sent over the Navtex system use a similar format and the same sea areas. The waters around the British Isles are divided into 31 sea areas, also known as weather areas. There are currently four broadcasts per day at the following times:

Daniel Corbett is an English broadcast meteorologist, who worked for the Met Office and the BBC for many years until May 2011. He first joined the Met Office and BBC Weather Centre in 1997, after beginning his career in the United States. In May 2011, Corbett made his final BBC weather report prior to taking up a new post in New Zealand with the MetService. Corbett is particularly popular with television viewers because of his enthusiastic weather presentations and his humorous slogans.
Darren Victor Bett is an English weather forecaster for the BBC, broadcasting on television and radio. Bett is a main weather presenter on BBC Radio 5 Live and also appears on the BBC News Channel, BBC World News, BBC One and BBC Radio 4.
Paul David Hudson is an English weather presenter for BBC Yorkshire and BBC Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Hudson was born and raised in Keighley, West Yorkshire. He was made an Honorary Fellow of Bradford College in 2014.
Isobel Dinah Lang is a weather presenter for Sky News.
Laura Elizabeth Tobin FRMS is an English broadcast meteorologist, currently employed by ITV. Tobin worked for the BBC before moving to the ITV Breakfast programme Daybreak in 2012. Daybreak was later replaced by Good Morning Britain in early 2014. Tobin currently presents the weather bulletins for the programme.

He is a keen walker and Welsh language learner.
Nicholas James Miller is a British weather forecaster who is working for the BBC. He joined the team at the BBC Weather Centre in London in January 2007, and can now be seen presenting on BBC News, BBC World News, BBC Radio 4 and BBC One. He appears regularly on the BBC News at One the BBC News at Six and BBC News at Ten.

John Michael Hammond is a meteorologist and an English weather forecaster for the BBC. For a long time he could be seen presenting weather forecasts on the BBC News channel, BBC Red Button and BBC World News. He was the main weather presenter on BBC News at One and on the BBC News at Ten, Countryfile and BBC News at Six. At the weekend he also presents the weather on BBC Radio 5 Live. He is currently presenting for the BBC in Birmingham, including the regional news programme Midlands Today.
Zebedee Soanes, is a British radio presenter who presents the weekday evening music show Smooth Classics at Seven on Classic FM. He was previously a newsreader and continuity announcer on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio 4 Extra until June 2022. He has collaborated in concert performances, particularly with the vocal ensemble Opus Anglicanum, and has published the children's book series Gaspard the Fox.

Tina Daheley is a British journalist, newsreader and presenter who works for the BBC, both on television and radio. She currently reads the news on The Radio 2 Breakfast Show with Zoe Ball, often contributing to discussions during the show. She is also a relief presenter on the BBC News at Ten and BBC News at Six. In 2019 she became the voiceover presenter of Points of View.
