The Petroleum Institute of Thailand (PTIT) is a non-profit organisation supporting the upstream oil and gas industry as well as the downstream petroleum and petrochemical industry in Thailand.

History

The Petroleum Institute of Thailand was founded on 26 September 1985 with support from the government, academic, industrial and private sector interests. [1] It is directed by the Foundation Board, the Advisory Board to the Council of Trustees and the Council of Trustees, which control the Institute's operations and give advice on financing the Institute's wide range of activities.

From 1985 to 2005 Khunying Thongtip Ratanarat was Executive Director of the institute. Now the Foundation Board and Advisory Board to the Council of Trustees are chaired by Privy Councilor Kamthon Sindhvanada.

Mission

The institute encourages and supports the development of the petroleum, petrochemical and related industries. It provides human resource development services and information services. It supports research and development in industry and encourages an open dialogue between the government, industry and academia for establishing practical public policies and regulations as well as prudent industry standards and best practices.

The institute communicates proactively with the public to facilitate a mutual understanding and to strengthen the public image of the industry. It acts as an impartial and independent know-how provider and fosters the continuous competitiveness and sustainability of the petroleum and petrochemical industry especially in the areas of health, safety and environment as well as operations.

The Ministry of Petroleum (MOP) (Persian: وزارت نفت‎ Vezârat-e Naft) manages the oil industry, the producer of oil and petrochemical products. MoP is in charge of all issues pertaining to exploration, extraction, exploitation, distribution and exportation of crude oil and oil products. Abu Dhabi National Oil Company company

The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company or ADNOC is the state-owned oil company of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). According to the Oil & Gas Journal, as of January 2015, the UAE holds the seventh-largest proven reserves of oil in the world at 97.8 billion barrels. Most of these reserves are located in Abu Dhabi. It is the world's 12th largest oil company by production, producing 3.1 million barrels per day. It is the UAE's largest company.

Hindustan Petroleum company

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) is an Indian oil and natural gas company with its headquarters at Mumbai, Maharashtra. It has about 25% market-share in India among public-sector companies (PSUs) and a strong marketing infrastructure. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, also second promoter of the company, owns 51.11% shares in HPCL and others are distributed amongst financial institutes, public and other investors. The company is ranked 367th on the Fortune Global 500 list of the world's biggest corporations as of 2016. HPCL got removed from NIFTY 50 INDEX in March 2019 Recently on 24 October 2019 the company has conferred with Maharatna status.

Qatar Petroleum

Qatar Petroleum (QP) is a state owned petroleum company of Qatar. The company operates all oil and gas activities in Qatar, including exploration, production, refining, transport, and storage. QP's chairman is Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry, and the chief executive officer is Saad Sherida Al Kaabi. QP's operations are directly linked with state planning agencies, regulatory authorities, and policymaking bodies. Together, revenues from oil and natural gas amount to 60% of the country's GDP. As of 2018 it was the third largest oil company in the world by oil and gas reserves.

GAIL natural gas company in India

Gail (India) Limited (GAIL) is Government of India undertaking company. Gail is the largest state-owned natural gas processing and distribution company in India. It is headquartered in New Delhi. It is a state-owned enterprise of the Government of India, under the administrative control of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. It has the following business segments: natural gas, liquid hydrocarbon, liquefied petroleum gas transmission, petrochemical, city gas distribution, exploration and production, GAILTEL and electricity generation. GAIL was conferred with the Maharatna status on 1 Feb 2013, by the Government of India. Only eight other Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs) enjoy this coveted status amongst all central CPSEs. GAIL was listed in the 131st position among India's most trusted brands according to the Brand Trust Report 2014, a study conducted by the Trust Research Advisory.

China Petrochemical Corporation Chinese oil refining, gas and petrochemical conglomerate

China Petrochemical Corporation or Sinopec Group is the world's largest oil refining, gas and petrochemical conglomerate, administered by SASAC for the State Council of the People's Republic of China. It is headquartered at Chaoyangmenwai in Beijing, across the road from the headquarters of fellow state-owned oil company and competitor CNOOC Group.

Oman Oil Company (OOC) is a national petroleum investment company of Oman. It is wholly owned by the Government of Oman. In addition to the oil and gas exploration and production, the company also invests in power generation, energy transportation and infrastructure, oil refining, and petrochemicals manufacturing. It has invested to over 50 projects across 15 countries.

PTT Global Chemical subsidiary of PTT Public Company Limited

PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (GC) is a subsidiary of PTT Public Company Limited. It was founded on 19 October 2011 through the amalgamation of PTT Chemical Public Company Limited and PTT Aromatics and Refining Public Company Limited to be the chemical flagship of PTT Group.

Indian Oil Corporation company

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), commonly known as IndianOil is an Indian government owned oil and gas company headquartered in New Delhi. It is the largest commercial oil company in the country, with a net profit of INR 19,106 crore for the financial year 2016–17. It is ranked 1st in Fortune India 500 list for year 2016 and 117th in Fortune Global 500 list of world's largest companies in the year 2019. As of 31 March 2017 IndianOil's employee strength is 33,135, out of which 16,545 are in the officer cadre. It is India's largest downstream oil company, with a workforce of more than 33,000 employees, a turnover of Rs. 506,428 crore and a net profit of Rs. 21,346 crore in 2017-18.

IRPC

IRPC Public Company Limited or simply IRPC is a Thai Public SET-listed Petroleum and Petrochemical company. It is a subsidiary of PTT Group, formerly Thai Petrochemical Industry Public Company Limited or "TPI", which was founded in 1978 by the Leophairatana family.

Khun Ying Thongtip Ratanarat is a Thai chemical engineer. She is a member of the Board of Directors of The Siam Fine Chemicals and of the Foundation for the Petroleum Institute of Thailand (PTIT). From 1985 to 2005 she was the PTIT's executive director.
