Plumtree is a former settlement in Yolo County, California. It was located on the Southern Pacific Railroad 4.25 miles (6.8 km) west of West Sacramento, at an elevation of 26 feet. It still appeared on maps as of 1916.

Plumtree is a village and civil parish in the borough of Rushcliffe, Nottinghamshire. At the time of the 2001 census it had a population of 221, increasing to 246 at the 2011 census. It is situated 5 miles south east of Nottingham, between the villages of Tollerton and Keyworth. Some of the farming land around the village is owned by the Duchy of Cornwall. The parish church of St Mary has a Norman tower on Saxon foundations, which were found when the tower was rebuilt in 1906. The nave is of 13th-century date. The north aisle was rebuilt and extended with stone from Nottingham's medieval Trent Bridge in 1873. Edward Hagarty Parry (1855–1931), an association footballer who captained Old Carthusians F.C. when they won the 1881 FA Cup Final against Old Etonians, is buried in the churchyard.

Plumtree is a small town in Zimbabwe. Alongside marula trees, wild plum trees grew abundantly in the area, hence the name Plumtree.

Plumtree was a Canadian indie rock/power pop band formed in 1993 in Halifax which consisted of sisters Carla and Lynette Gillis, Amanda Braden, Nina Martin, and later Catriona Sturton. The band achieved moderate success during their seven years of activity, completing several tours of Canada and parts of the U.S., as well as releasing three full-length albums, a six track EP, and various singles, before finally disbanding in June 2000. The band is notable for their top single, "Scott Pilgrim", having been the inspiration for the title character in Bryan Lee O'Malley's graphic novel series of the same name.

Plumtree Software is a former software company founded in 1996 by product managers and engineers from Oracle and Informix with funding from Sequoia Capital. The company was a pioneer of extending the portal concept popularized by Yahoo! from the web to enterprise computing. BEA Systems acquired Plumtree on October 20, 2005, and Oracle subsequently acquired BEA. Plumtree's former portal product continues as part of Oracle's product line.

John Plumtree is the current forwards coach for the Hurricanes and is the former head coach of the Sharks, a rugby union team which competes in the Super Rugby and Currie Cup competitions. As a player Plumtree won two Currie Cup medals with the Sharks ; and as a coach he guided the Sharks to Currie Cup wins in 2008 and 2010.

About 4km from Figtree there is a Bazha turn, unpaved road which connects to Matopo-Kezi-Maphisa road. Marula is a small village and railway station on the railway line and the A7 road between Bulawayo and Plumtree, located 75 km from Bulawayo. Because of its location on the railway line, Marula started as a social and religious centre for the surrounding farms in the early colonial period, following the eviction of the Kalanga people from the area by the British South Africa Company.

David John Lewis was a Zimbabwean first-class cricketer. His career lasted for over 20 years and the second half saw him captain the Rhodesian side which competed in the Currie Cup. He was one of the 1956 South African cricket annual cricketers of the year. He was born at Bulawayo, educated at Plumtree School, the University of Cape Town and Exeter College, Oxford, and died at Johannesburg.

Solomon Skuza (1954–1995), also known as Jah Solo was a Zimbabwean musician, one of the most popular to come out of Plumtree. In addition to his native Kalanga, he wrote lyrics in Ndebele, Shona and English as well. Other popular Kalanga musicians include Nduna Malaba, Ndolwane Super Sounds, Mokis Connection and Solomon's brother Chase Skuza.

Catriona Sturton is an Ottawa, Ontario–based singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. She has had a prolific career, performing in bands such as Plumtree and collaborating with artists like Joel Plaskett, Al Tuck, the late Dutchy Mason, the Mighty Popo and members of Sloan and Blue Rodeo.
