Posebyen is a neighbourhood in the city of Kristiansand in Vest-Agder county, Norway. Posebyen is located in the downtown borough of Kvadraturen, along the western shore of the river Otra. It consists mostly of large, white, wooden houses, many of which were left intact after the big city fire in 1892. Therefore, it forms the largest continuous collection of old wooden houses in any city in Northern Europe. [1]

The Kvadraturen skolesenter high school and the Tordenskjoldsgate elementary school are both located in the neighbourhood.

The streets Tollbodgata, Rådhusgata, Gyldenløves gate, Skippergata, Henrik Wergelands gate, Kristian IVs gate, and Tordenskjolds gate are the streets that cross Posebyen west and east, while the streets Kirkegate, Holbergs gate, Kronprinsens gate and Elvegata cross from north to south.

Posebyen is located north of Tangen, east of Gyldengården, and includes part of what is called Nybyen. [1] [2]

Kvadraturen Upper Secondary, Kvadraturen videregående skole, former Kvadraturen skolesenter, is a public high school in Kristiansand, Norway. It is one of the largest high school in Southern Norway. It first opened as a Sunday school in 1812. The school has two blocks on 4 and 5 floors with a skywalk between both. On the bottom floor of the old building is where the cafeteria and the library is located, while the new building is mostly classrooms and offices. The lines at the school is studies, electricians and technology servicing, health and youth development, specialization and supplementary general admission and alternative learning.

Fiskåtangen or Fiskå is a neighbourhood and small peninsula in the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Vågsbygd and in the district of Slettheia. The islands of Svensholmen and Bragdøya lie to the southeast off the coast of Fiskåtangen. The neighborhood is located to the west of Kjerrheia and north of Lumber. Fiskåtangen has the only junior high for the district of Slettheia. Fiskåtangen has a large industrial area serving Vågsbygd and Kristiansand. The local newspaper Fædrelandsvennen was headquartered at Fiskå before it relocated to Kvadraturen in the summer of 2015.

Slettheitoppen or Øvre Slettheia is a neighbourhood in the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Vågsbygd and in the district of Slettheia. The neighborhood lies west of Trane and northwest of Nedre Slettheia. The Øvre Slettheia skole is an elementary school in the neighbourhood.

Markens gate is the main pedestrian street in Kristiansand, Norway. It is located in the west of the borough Kvadraturen and the length of the entire street is 1 kilometer, while the pedestrian part is 550 meters and another 160 meters with Otterdalsparken. The streets goes from Slottet Mall in the north and is a pedestrian street all the way down to Dronningens gate, it's only crossed by traffic from Tordenskjolds gate, Kristian IVs gate and Henrik Wergelands gate before Dronningens gate. The pedestrian parts stretches over 7 quarters. Compared to other Norwegian cities, Markens street is one of the most walked streets in the country.

Sødal is a neighbourhood in the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. It's located in the Lund borough on the east bank of river Otra. Previously it has been farmed and a limestone quarry and a still existing lime kiln located at Sødal. In 1803, four aggressive wolves were caught in outlying areas. Sødal is currently a residential area. At the Torridalsveien there is a tollgate which is a part of the toll ring around Kristiansand.
