Prêmio ACIE de Cinema is a Brazilian film award.

The prize

OR LICA Film Award was born in 2004. Conceived by the President of LICA, Michael Astor, a correspondent for the Associated Press, the award was inspired by the Golden Globe Awards awarded by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (Association Foreign Press of Hollywood, in Portuguese).

In each edition, the feature films commercially released in Brazilian cinema during the previous year are assessed by the Award Committee, formed by corresponding international partners of LICA. They watch all productions and show four films in each of the nine competitive categories: film (fiction), Director, Actress, Actor, Documentary, Photography, Writing, Soundtrack and Blockbuster Brazil. This last category was created in the 2012 edition to reward films that achieved top grossing a million tickets.

All nominated films participate in a show open to the public, held at Centro Cultural Banco do Brazil (CCBB) in Rio. In addition to allowing all associated with LICA to watch movies, the show has the public vote ( not foreign correspondents) to elect the winner in the category Popular Jury.

At the opening of the show, the Prize carries out the premiere of an unpublished long in the supply chain, followed by a discussion with the director, actors and producers.

After watching the films during the show, the corresponding international affiliated with LICA vote, the internet, your favorite in each category. The winners are revealed at the awards ceremony. The event has also a special honor, awarded by the prize to a film industry personality for lifetime achievement. The tribute began to be made from the 2007 edition.

And as the party is of international correspondents, an associate of LICA is honored by the dissemination of Brazilian culture with RioFilme Award. The winner is chosen by the very RioFilme based on materials submitted by journalists, broadcast in newspapers, magazines, TV, radio or internet, in the previous year.

The trophy

The winners of each category of Film Award LICA receive from the foreign correspondents a trophy designed by jewelry designer Antonio Bernardo. The image of the movie projection cone was the starting point for the design, made in acrylic material. The cone symbolizes the power of implementation of the spectators for the many worlds portrayed in the award-winning films.

Selton Mello Brazilian actor

Metro Manila Film Festival

The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is an annual film festival held in Metro Manila, the Philippines. The festival, which runs from December 25 (Christmas) through New Years Day and into first weekend of January in the following year, focuses on Filipino films. During the course of the festival, only films approved by the jurors of the MMFF are shown in movie theaters. No foreign movies are shown except in 3D theaters and IMAX theaters, since 2010s, film entries were played in select 3D cinemas that it can show movies in 2D format. It is one of the two Filipino major film festivals to exclude foreign films in a week-long period, the other being the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino happening during August.

The Nandi Awards is the highest award ceremony for excellence in Telugu cinema, Telugu theatre, Telugu television, and Lifetime achievements in Indian cinema, presented annually by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. <i>Buddies</i> (2012 film) 2012 film by Marcelo Galvão

Buddies is a 2012 Brazilian adventure-comedy film written and directed by Marcelo Galvão. The film tells the story of three young people with Down syndrome working in the video library of the institute where they live. One day, inspired by the movie Thelma & Louise, they decide to flee in search of new adventures. It was shot in São Paulo, Paulínia, Bertioga, all three in São Paulo, Florianópolis and Laguna, in Santa Catarina, and in Torres, Rio Grande do Sul, as well as in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The Hum Award is a Pakistani accolade bestowed by the Hum Network Limited in recognition of excellence in television programming of Hum Television Entertainment, fashion and music industry of Pakistan. Winners are awarded the golden statue that represents the channel's logo, which is an Urdu character called 'Hum' and thus officially named the Hum Award of Merit. The awards were first presented in 2013 at a ceremony held at the Karachi Expo Centre. The Awards are the effort of the channel's CEO, Sultana Siddiqui, who announced the awards of her own channel dramas and for fashion and music industry in late 2012 and officially announced in front of the media on 12 February 2013.

The 7th Annual Indonesian Movie Awards was held on May 27, 2013, at the Studio 8 RCTI, West Jakarta. The award show was hosted by Choky Sitohang and Tamara Geraldine. And the nominations have been announced for the category of Favorite, which will be chosen by the public via SMS. As for the category of Best, will be selected by a jury that has been appointed. As a guest star who will fill the event, among them Ahmad Dhani, Bebi Romeo, Rossa, Bunga Citra Lestari, 3Composer, and the participants of X Factor Indonesia.

The Nolly Awards, formerly the Nollywood Movies Awards, is an annual Nigerian film award presented by the Nollywood Movies TV to honour outstanding achievement in the Nigerian film industry. The inaugural edition was held at the Civic Center, Lagos on 2 June 2012. The most recent ceremony was held on 18 October 2014 at the newly commissioned Intercontinental Hotel, which is the tallest hotel in West Africa. In 2016, the awards was rebranded to The Nolly Awards, with the 2016 edition to hold on May 1, however, the ceremony didn't hold for the second year in a row.

Nollywood and African Film Critics Awards

The Nollywood and African Film Critics Awards is an annual award that rewards film practitioners in the African continent. It has been held in the United States since its maiden edition on September 17, 2011.
