Lahore Development Authority proposed Public Private Partnership (PPP) model where a certain Government land parcel is divided in two halves. One half for 'Affordable Housing' and the other half for 'Commercial Housing Society'. 'Private Partner' builds the 'Affordable Housing' units at its own expense and gets the land allocated for Commercial Housing Society. Then the 'Private Partner' sells residential and commercial land plots at market rates within the Commercial Housing Society and makes handsome returns for its 'Private Partner' unit. This provides affordable housing units below market value to deserving citizens of Punjab, Pakistan without involving financial funding from the government. [2]

Non-profit housing developers build affordable housing for individuals under-served by the private market. The non-profit housing sector is composed of community development corporations (CDC) and national and regional non-profit housing organizations whose mission is to provide for the needy, the elderly, working households, and others that the private housing market does not adequately serve. Of the total 4.6 million units in the social housing sector, non-profit developers have produced approximately 1.547 million units, or roughly one-third of the total stock. The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) was established in 1991 through an act of Provincial Assembly of the Punjab. In 2004, PEF was restructured and Dr. Allah Bakhsh Malik, UNESCO Confucius Laureate was appointed as its first MD/CEO (2005-2008). The first Board of Directors consisted of Mr. Shahid Hafeez Kardar former Governor State Bank of Pakistan, Group Captain Cecil Chaudhry, national hero, Ms. Shaista Pervez Malik and Mr. Khalid Ikhlaq Gilani PAS, Secretary School Education Department. Dr. Malik developed the vision of the restructured foundation. "To promote quality education through Public Private Partnership (PPP), encourage and support the efforts of private sector through technical and financial assistance and innovate and develop new instruments to champion wider educational opportunities at affordable cost to the poor." The Vision, mission and objectives of the Foundation were approved by the BOD. PEF introduced wonderful initiatives like FAS, EVS, TICSS and CPD and was supported by Chaudhry Pervez Ellahi as Chief Minister and Mr. Salman Siddiq Chief Secretary Punjab. The Chairman was elected by the members of the Board from private sector and CEO was appointed by BOD after proper selection process and advertisement in newspapers. The Foundation has taken many initiatives for the promotion of affordable quality education for less privileged and disenfranchised sections of society and has introduced new cost effective, economical and affordable models in Public Private Partnership. The initiatives have been widely appreciated and recognized at national and international level as well. Currently, more than 2.6 million students are getting free and quality education in 7,468 partner schools across the Punjab. Punjab Education Foundation is an autonomous, statutory body of the Punjab Government which works under the auspicious guidance of its 15-member board of directors (BOD) which is headed by the Chairman selected among the private members. Lahore University of Management Sciences - LUMS published a book, ' Candles in the Dark' and wrote a chapter on PEF. The Economist highlighted the achievements of PEF. The foundation is running three kinds of schools under "Foundation Assisted School (FAS)", "Education Voucher Scheme (EVS)" and "New School Programme (NSP)" programmes. It also trains the teachers of its partner schools under Continuous Development Programme(CPDP). To check quality education it has a comprehensive examination system under Academic Development Unit (ADU). The partner schools have to show 75% results lest they would fail. The Foundation has taken many innovative interventions for promotion of affordable quality school education for the less-privileged and disenfranchised sections of the society and has introduced new cost-effective, economical and affordable models through Public Private Partnership. These initiatives have been widely appreciated and recognized at national and international level by now. PEF provides financial assistance on monthly basis to partner schools on per child enrolment basis @ rate of Rs.550/- for primary level, Rs. 600/- for elementary level, Rs. 900/- for Secondary (Arts), Rs.1100/- for Secondary (Science), Rs. 1200/- for Higher Secondary (Arts) and Rs. 1500/- for Higher Secondary (Science).
The Privatisation process in Pakistan is a continuous policy measure program in the economic period of Pakistan. It was first conceived and implemented by the then-people-elected Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the Pakistan Muslim League, in an attempt to enable the nationalised industries towards market economy, immediately after the economic collapse of the Soviet Union in 1989–90. The programme was envisaged and visioned to improve the GDP growth of the national economy of Pakistan, and reversal of the nationalisation programme in 1970s— an inverse of the privatisation programme.

The Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park is a photovoltaic power station in Bahawalpur, Punjab, Pakistan, named in honor of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan. In 2013, Government of Punjab, Pakistan developed the infrastructure of a 6,500 acre solar park near Bahawalpur to be able to accommodate 1,000 MWp solar power generation. The government committed to develop the first 100 MWp solar plant as a pilot project to demonstrate its viability that would attract private investors to invest for the remaining 900 MWp. The First Phase pilot plant of 100 MWp was constructed and commissioned in May 2015 at a cost of $131.15 million. It spans 500 acres and utilizes 392,158 solar modules. The project was immensely successful and attracted great attention from numerous domestic and international investors. However, due to opposition from competing technology power plants, political considerations and a lack of policy from the federal government, eventually only 400 MWp power generation was completed and the park is open to investment for the remaining capacity if the federal government will provide enabling incentives to potential investors.

South Punjab Forest Company (SPFC) is a subsidiary of the Forestry, Wildlife & Fisheries Department, Government of the Punjab and operates on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. The company is created under the visionary leadership of Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Chief Minister Punjab and spearheaded by Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, Chairman, South Punjab Forest Company (SPFC). One of the main objectives of the organization is to streamline public and private sector investments in the forestry sector, so that deforestation can be reduced in Punjab, and forest conservation and sustainable economic development go hand in hand. SPFC aims to encourage investments in the forestry sector which offers low risk with high return. The land will be awarded to successful bidders for 15 years and further extendable to another 15 years subjected to satisfactory performance of investors. The project will be floated in the market for solicitation of expression of interest from the potential investors in June 2017. The land slots will be awarded to the successful bidders based on evaluation by the end of August, 2017. The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of forest sites, awarded to successful bidders, will be done in collaboration with the Forestry, Wildlife & Fisheries Department, Government of the Punjab, as per the provisions of PPP Act, 2014, and The Punjab Forest (Amendment) Act, 2016. Revenue sharing will be done in this initiative. The Company in order to effectively reach out to the business community is organizing seminars in collaboration with various Chambers of Commerce & Industry to sensitize business groups to invest in the opportunity.
Shehbaz Sharif served longest tenure in history as chief minister of Punjab, Pakistan spanning over 11 years of rule. His tenures involved 1997 Nawaz Government, 2008 Pakistan Peoples Party's regime and 2013 PML-N's rule. His prominent contribution involves infrastructure development, transit projects and power plants. He has developed fly overs, road infrastructures, transit services and power projects. He is best known for his dedication, working speed, ability to execute mega projects and his quick actions. However, he is also criticise over lack of priorities, spending development funds mostly in Lahore and large cities, keeping major power and assignments with in himself, nepotism and conflict of interests and misuse of authority by opposition parties.
