Additionally, he also served as the ex-officio Vice-Chairman of the Maharashtra State Electricity Board's holding company and as the co-chairman of Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Ltd.
Members of the 15th Lok Sabha were elected during the 2009 general election in India. It was dissolved on 18 May 2014 by President Pranab Mukherjee.

Sudhakar Shamrao Deshmukh was a member of the 13th Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. He represented the Nagpur West Assembly Constituency. He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Deshmukh was also member of the 12th Assembly (2009–2014). Deshmukh was the president of Indian National Congress's (INC) Nagpur district committee. Deshmukh, then with the Indian National Congress, was member of Maharashtra Legislative Council from 1991 to 1996. He joined the BJP in 2000 and was the president of BJP's Nagpur city unit in 2007. Deshmukh is a commerce graduate from Nagpur University.
Sanjay Dulichand Rathod is a Shiv Sena politician from Yavatmal district, Maharashtra. He is a member of the 14th Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from Digras Assembly Constituency. He was appointed Maharashtra's minister of state in December, 2014 he was given the revenue portfolio. He was also given responsibility of being guardian minister of Yavatmal district. His election in the 2014 election made him a three term Member of Legislative Assembly. He was at the time of his appointment as minister, Shiv Sena's Yavatmal district president.He was made a cabinet minister on 30 December 2019 Rathod belongs to the Banjara community. He won 2014 assembly election with record margin of 79864, second highest in Maharashtra.

He has been a former member of the Assembly from Yavatmal. His victory was amongst the five seats won by the BJP, that resulted in the Indian National Congress (INC) not being able to win a single seat in Yavatmal district once its stronghold. He is a stakeholder in Chintamani Agrotech a company involved in power generation in Yavatmal, a company that had Nitin Gadkari as one of its directors. He is considered as a "protege'" of Gadkari, and the 2014 contest had been considered as a "prestige issue" for Gadkari and Ajit Pawar whose mentee Sandeep Bajoria was pitted against him. He is also a guardian minister of Buldhana district which is located in the Amravati division of Maharashtra India
Tanaji Sakharamji Mutkule is a member of the 13th Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. He represents the Hingoli Assembly Constituency. He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election was held on 21 October 2019 to elect all 288 members of the state's Legislative Assembly. After a 61.4% turnout in the election, the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena (SHS) won a majority. Following differences over the government formation, the alliance was dissolved, precipitating a political crisis. Since a council of ministers had not been formed after no party could manage to form the government, President's rule had been imposed in the state.
