Random (02) is a remix album by Gary Numan, released in 1998 [1] on Beggars Banquet records as a companion album to the Random covers album of the preceding year. [2] It contains new remixes in techno and house music styles by several club DJ's and mixers and was also released as a four LP set. [3] These four vinyl LPs were again released separately as limited edition 12" singles on red (Random 2.1 [4] ), green (Random 2.2 [5] ), blue (Random 2.3 [6] ) and clear (Random 2.4 [7] ) vinyl.

Replicas was the first album of what Numan later termed the "machine" phase of his career, preceding The Pleasure Principle (1979) and Telekon (1980), a collection linked by common themes of a dystopian science fiction future and transmutation of man/machine, coupled with an androgynous image and a synthetic rock sound.
Battles is an American experimental rock group, founded in 2002 in New York City by Ian Williams. The current line-up is a duo, composed of guitarist/keyboardist Williams and drummer John Stanier. Former members include composer/vocalist Tyondai Braxton and guitarist/bassist Dave Konopka. Hatefiles is a compilation album by American heavy metal band Fear Factory, released by Roadrunner Records on April 8, 2003. It contains rare, unreleased and remixed tracks. The artwork and booklet do not confirm who remixed the tracks, though it is likely to be Nick Smith and Miles Seabrook (with the definite exception of "Cars".

It currently stands as the best selling compilation by Gary Numan. The album was promoted by the re-released 1987 remixed version of "Cars", re-titled as the 'Premier Mix' in a TV advert campaign for Carling Premier lager. The single reached No 17, making the third time that "Cars" has reached the top 40 in the UK Singles Chart.
