Rayaru Bandaru Mavana Manege is a 1993 Indian Kannada-language romantic drama film directed by Dwarakish and produced by P. Balaram. The film stars Vishnuvardhan [1] along with Dolly Minhas and Bindiya. [2] The music is scored by Raj–Koti and audio by Lahari Music.
The film is a remake of director Priyadarshan's Malayalam film Chithram (1988) starring Mohanlal and Ranjini. [3]
Suma is the only daughter of a rich NRI Ramachandra Raya. Suma lives with Shyam in India. Suma decides to marry her lover even though he is not accepted by her father. On their wedding day, the groom ditches her as she cannot inherit her father's property. Ramachandra Raya is now ready to accept his new son-in-law and decides to stay with him for a fortnight in his estate. As his health is already in a bad condition, Shyam and Suma do not tell Ramachandra Raya what had happened on the day of wedding. Shyam comes across Vishnu who is in need of money. He asks him to act like Suma's husband before Ramachandra Raya to which he agrees. Initially Suma and Vishnu keep picking fights with each other. Gradually Suma starts feelings for Vishnu. After a few days Vishnu has a visitor. He tells Suma and Shyam about Vishnu's past. In the flashback we see that Vishnu was married to a mute teacher Shivaranjini, had a child and lead a happy life. Later an unknown man begins visiting his wife while she was alone. This aroused suspicion in Vishnu's mind who one day catches hold of that man and have a fight with him. In this duel, Shivaranjini dies. Later it is revealed that the man was her brother and met her in secret because he was a naxalite. Vishnu lands in jail for killing his wife. Back in the present, Vishnu had escaped from the jail to gather money for his child's surgery. It is revealed that Vishnu's visitor is the jail warden. The warden says that Vishnu is sentenced to death and that nothing could be done for this. After the completion of 14 days vacation, Ramachandra Raya returns. In the end we see Suma bidding a tearful goodbye to Vishnu who will be executed soon.
The music of the film was composed by Raj–Koti. Raj- Koti reused "Adivi deviya" in the Telugu movie Bangaru Bullodu. The soundtrack consisted one Thyagaraja kriti "Nagumomu" performed by K. J. Yesudas [4]

Sampath Kumar, known by his stage name Vishnuvardhan, was an Indian actor predominantly in Kannada cinema. He is regarded as one of the popular cultural icon of Karnataka. Vishnuvardhan is often referred to as Sahasa Simha and The Angry Young Man of Kannada Cinema. He appeared in more than 220 films all together in Kannada, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. He was called The Phoenix of Indian Cinema. He made his debut in the 1972 National Award winning film, Vamsha Vriksha, in a supporting role. The same year he played the lead role in Puttanna Kanagal's Naagarahaavu which was his breakthrough and he had won Filmfare Special Jury Award. He won Karnataka State Film Awards & Filmfare Awards South for best performance.
Chithram (transl. Picture) is a 1988 Indian Malayalam-language screwball comedy film written and directed by Priyadarshan. The film was produced by P. K. R. Pillai under his production house Shirdi Sai Creations, and stars Mohanlal, Ranjini, Nedumudi Venu, Lizy, Poornam Viswanathan, Sreenivasan, M. G. Soman, Sukumari, Maniyanpilla Raju, and Shanavas, while Thikkurissy Sukumaran Nair makes a cameo appearance. The songs were composed by Kannur Rajan and film score by Johnson. Mohanlal won the Kerala State Film Award - Special Jury Award for his performance in this film.
Apthamitra is a 2004 Indian Kannada-language horror film directed by P. Vasu, and stars Vishnuvardhan, Soundarya and Ramesh Arvind in the lead roles with Prema, Dwarakish and Avinash in supporting roles. This was Soundarya's last film in her career which ended with two posthumous releases - the other being the Telugu movie Shiva Shankar which released few days before Apthamitra. The movie is a remake of the 1993 Malayalam classic film Manichithrathazhu with a few scenes borrowed from the 1997 Malayalam film Aaraam Thampuran. The film was released on 27 August 2004 to highly positive reviews. It ran for one year in the main theaters across Karnataka and was one of the highest-grossing films of the year. Apthamitra was later followed by its sequel, Aptharakshaka (2010). P. Vasu also remade the film in Tamil in 2005 as Chandramukhi with Rajinikanth and Jyothika in the leads. Late actress Soundarya is remembered for her performance in this film.
Bungle Shama Rao Dwarakanath, better known as Dwarakish, is an Indian actor, director and producer in the Kannada film industry. He was given the name Dwarakish by Kannada film maker C. V. Shivashankar.

The same sequence was later used in the 2012 Hindi film Barfi!.
Ayushman Bhava is a 2019 Indian Kannada-language drama film directed by P. Vasu and produced by B. S. Dwarakish and Yogish Dwarakish Bunggale. The film stars Shiva Rajkumar, Ananth Nag, Rachita Ram, and Prabhu along with Nidhi Subbaiah in a special appearance. The music was composed by Gurukiran. The cinematography and editing were handled by PKH Das and Gowtham Raju respectively.
