Nevis is a small island in the Caribbean Sea that forms part of the inner arc of the Leeward Islands chain of the West Indies. Nevis and the neighbouring island of Saint Kitts constitute one country: the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis. Nevis is located near the northern end of the Lesser Antilles archipelago, about 350 km east-southeast of Puerto Rico and 80 km west of Antigua. Its area is 93 square kilometres (36 sq mi) and the capital is Charlestown.
Scotch bonnet, also known as bonney peppers, or Caribbean red peppers, is a variety of chili pepper named for its resemblance to a tam o' shanter hat. It is native to the Caribbean islands and Central America. Most Scotch bonnets have a heat rating of 80,000–400,000 Scoville units. For comparison, most jalapeño peppers have a heat rating of 2,500 to 8,000 on the Scoville scale. However, completely sweet varieties of Scotch bonnet are grown on some of the Caribbean islands, called cachucha peppers.
Each year, Nevisians celebrate their heritage during Culturama. It is Nevis' answer to the diverse range of carnivals enjoyed on other Caribbean islands. Held annually in late July/early August, it celebrates Nevisians who have moved away and returned to party with their friends and family. It is a commemoration and festival enjoying the cultural traditions. There's music every night, parties, food festivals, and concerts, culminating in the early march through downtown Charlestown.

David Parry was a Nevisian cricketer who played a single match for the Leeward Islands during the 1958 season. Little is known of Parry's life, other than that he originated from the town of Cotton Ground in Saint Thomas Lowland Parish. Having previously represented Nevis in several inter-island matches, he first played for the Leeward Islands in a match against the touring Pakistanis in February 1958. Parry's only match at first-class level came in July of the same year, in a match against Jamaica held at Melbourne Park, Kingston. Although usually considered an all-rounder, he scored a pair batted in the lower order during both innings of the match, and failed to take a wicket. Parry's nephew, Derick Parry, later played for the West Indies at both Test and One Day International (ODI) level.

The Indian community in Saint Kitts and Nevis is made up of Indo-Kittitians, Indo-Nevisians, non-resident Indians and persons of Indian origin.
