Robert Sosebee Woods (born March 13, 1948) is an American actor best known for playing Bo Buchanan on the ABC soap One Life to Live , [1] [2] a role for which he won the 1983 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. [3]

Early life

In 1966 Woods graduated from Lakewood High School in Lakewood, California, where he served as senior class president, and a cheerleader. He later joined the U.S. Armed Forces and fought in the Vietnam War. Woods ultimately graduated from California State University, Long Beach where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

Career

Woods began portraying Bo Buchanan – a Vietnam War veteran – on the ABC soap One Life to Live in 1979, [1] [2] winning the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 1983. [3] He left the series in 1986 and returned 1988, and continued the role until the series cancellation in 2012. [1] [2] Woods also earned Daytime Emmy nominations in 1986, [4] 1993, [5] 1994, [6] 1999, [7] and 2000, [8] multiple Soap Opera Digest Award nominations, and four MVP trophies from Soap Opera Update . [1]

Woods has also appeared on television series such as Roseanne and the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives . He appeared in eight episodes of The Waltons , four credited as "Robert Merritt Woods" and four as "Christopher Woods."

Woods is also the voiceover in the animated TV spot for JPMorgan Chase & Co. which debuted in October 2010.

Personal life

Woods is married to actress Loyita Chapel and lives in New York. The couple have a son, Tanner Woods, who played a young Bo on One Life to Live in an August 26, 2008 flashback to 1968. [9] Tanner was a twin, whose sibling died at the age of one month.

Woods was good friends with on-screen father Phil Carey. [10]

Linda Dano is an American actress and television host. She began her career appearing in film and prime time television, before in 1978 was cast as Rae Cummings on the ABC daytime soap opera, One Life to Live (1978–80). From 1983 to 1999, Dano starred as Felicia Gallant in the NBC soap opera Another World. She returned to One Life to Live starring in show from 1999 to 2004. Dano was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award seven times, winning once for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 1993 for her work on Another World.

Roger Howarth is an American actor. He played character Todd Manning on the daytime drama One Life to Live (OLTL); the character earned Howarth a Daytime Emmy Award in 1994, and is cited as an icon in the soap opera genre. He left the series in 2003 and joined soap opera As the World Turns, where he played the character of Paul Ryan until the series' final episode in 2010. Howarth returned to OLTL in May 2011, continuing the role on General Hospital in March 2012. Due to a lawsuit from Prospect Park, Howarth, along with Kristen Alderson and Michael Easton, were forced to exit their roles in March 2013, only to return as new characters in May of the same year. He returned as Franco on General Hospital, the character formerly created and portrayed by James Franco. When the character was written off in March 2021, Howarth returned two months later as a new character, Austin Gatlin-Holt. In addition to his soap opera work, Howarth has guest starred in television shows such as Prey, The Flash and Dawson's Creek.
