The Archbishop of Westminster heads the Roman Catholic Diocese of Westminster, in England. The incumbent is the Metropolitan of the Province of Westminster, Chief Metropolitan of England and Wales and, as a matter of custom, is elected President of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales, and therefore de facto spokesman of the Catholic Church in England and Wales. All previous Archbishops of Westminster have become Cardinals.
Although all the bishops of the restored diocesan episcopacy took new titles, like that of Westminster, they saw themselves in continuity with the pre-Reformation Church and post-Reformation Vicars Apostolic and Titular Bishops. Westminster, in particular, saw itself as the continuity of Canterbury, hence the similarity of the coat of arms of the two Sees, with Westminster believing it has more right to it since it features the pallium, a distinctly Catholic symbol of communion with the Holy See.
John Michael Sherlock was the Roman Catholic Bishop of London, Ontario, from July 8, 1978 to April 27, 2002. He was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and raised in Brantford, Ontario. Second eldest of a family of eight, four of his five brothers also studied at the seminary. Two of them, Fr William Sherlock and Fr Philip Sherlock, were ordained priests.

David Douglas Crosby is a Canadian prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He is the ninth and current Bishop of Hamilton, having previously served as Bishop of St. George’s Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador (2003–2007) and Bishop of Corner Brook and Labrador (2007–2010). On Thursday, September 17, 2015, during the fall 2015 Plenary Assembly of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB), Bishop Crosby was elected President-elect of the Conference; he took office at the end of the fall 2015 Plenary Assembly. At that time, Bishop Crosby succeeded the outgoing President, Archbishop Paul-André Durocher, of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Gatineau, in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. Bishop Crosby is a member of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate (O.M.I.), though as a bishop his immediate superior is now the Pope. His two-year term as President of the Conference ended in 2017, with the election of Bishop Lionel Gendron of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saint-Jean-Longueuil in Longueuil, Quebec as President.
