The Sächsisches Ständehaus (Saxon House of Estates) is a building in Dresden which was built to house the Landtag of the Free State of Saxony.

The Landtag of the Free State of Saxony, also referred to as the Saxon Landtag, the Parliament of Saxony or the Saxon state parliament, is the legislative body of the German State of Saxony. It is based on the Free State's constitution, drafted in 1992.

Paul Wallot built the Sächsisches Ständehaus between 1901 and 1907. The Landtag had previously met in the Landhaus.

Johann Paul Wallot was a German architect of Huguenot descent, best known for designing the Reichstag building in Berlin, erected between 1884 and 1894. He also built the adjacent Palace of the President of the Reichstag, finished in 1904, and the former Saxon Ständehaus state diet building of 1906 at Brühl's Terrace in Dresden.

Landhaus (Dresden) architectural structure

The Landhaus is a historic building in Dresden, Germany. Designed to house the Saxony region's Landstand, it was built in the Baroque style between 1770 and 1776 by Friedrich August Krubsacius on the site of the former Palais Flemming-Sulkowski. In September 1775 the Obersteuerkollegium moved into it and in October the Landstand first sat there. It now houses the Dresden City Museum and the Dresden City Art Gallery.
