Rick Saccone American politician

Richard Saccone is an American politician and author who represented the state's 39th district in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. A Republican, he was the party's nominee for the 18th congressional district special election, held on March 13, 2018. The race proved to be very close, and was ultimately won by the Democratic candidate Conor Lamb with a margin of less than 0.4%. Saccone conceded the race eight days later.

Pier Saccone Tarlati di Pietramala (1261–1356) was an Italian condottiero from Pietramala d'Arezzo in the Val d'Arno, a rocca that controlled the mule track between his native town of Arezzo and Anghiari. Pietramala was the seat of the powerful family of the Tarlati, who came to prominence in the strife following Arezzo's decisive defeat at Campaldino (1289) as heads of the Ghibelline "Secchi" faction of Arezzo. Pier Saccone's brother was Guido Tarlati, bishop and signore of Arezzo.

The term Hystricomorpha has had many definitions throughout its history. In the broadest sense, it refers to any rodent with a hystricomorphous zygomasseteric system. This includes the Hystricognathi, Ctenodactylidae, Anomaluridae, and Pedetidae. Molecular and morphological results suggest the inclusion of the Anomaluridae and Pedetidae in Hystricomorpha may be suspect. Based on Carleton & Musser 2005, these two families are treated here as representing a distinct suborder Anomaluromorpha.

Bertrando Alidosi was an Italian condottiero and the lord of Imola from 1372 until 1391. He was the son of Roberto Alidosi, and succeeded in his signoria to Azzo Alidosi, to whom he had been associated by will of Pope Urban V. In 1365 he had been also made lord of Castel del Rio, Monte del Fine and Castiglione. The two brothers were jailed in Bologna two times by the papal forces, but they were permitted to return soon to Imola. In 1371 he was forced by a rebellion to flee shortly at Avignon with Pope Gregory XI.

Guy Lorin Reschenthaler is an American politician, attorney, judge, and U.S. Navy veteran who is serving as the U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania's 14th congressional district. Previously, he was a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate, representing the 37th district. A Republican, he also served as a district judge and in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps (JAG) during the Iraq War.

A special election for Pennsylvania's 18th congressional district was held on March 13, 2018, following the resignation of Republican Representative Tim Murphy. Murphy, who held the seat since January 3, 2003, declared his intent to resign on October 5, 2017, and vacated his seat on October 21 that year. Democrat Conor Lamb defeated Republican Rick Saccone 49.9% to 49.5%. Saccone conceded the race eight days after the election.

Conor James Lamb is an American attorney, politician, former federal prosecutor and former Marine who currently serves as the U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania's 17th congressional district since January 2019. The district serves most of the northwestern suburbs of Pittsburgh. A member of the Democratic Party, Lamb was first elected to Congress from the neighboring 18th District in March 2018, in a special election against Republican Rick Saccone that attracted national attention. After Pennsylvania's congressional map was redrawn by court order, Lamb filed to run for a full term in the 17th district in the 2018 general election, which he also won.
