Name

San Beda is named after the Venerable Bede of England. In honor of Venerable Bede who is an English man, the school chose the Red Lion Rampant which is the heraldic symbol of the ancient Scots/English for courage as part of its school logo. [2] [5] [6] San Beda pays tribute to the courage of the Benedictine monks by adopting the Red Lion, the symbol of courage in the Catholic tradition and in the land of St. Bede. [7]

Football

Dubbed the "Red Booters", the San Beda football team has been a consistent championship contender for the past few years in the NCAA. The seniors team has won the NCAA championship for the last 6 years and has won a total of 14 championships, second only to De La Salle University in all-time wins.

Swimming

The San Beda Red Sea Lions is one of the veteran teams, alongside Mapua University in the NCAA swimming championships, and is the winningest sports team of San Beda. The domination of the San Beda Red Sea Lions started in NCAA Season 78 in 2002 when they halted the 3-peat run of Philippine Christian University. As of NCAA Season 98, the men's team is currently the 19-peat champions, meanwhile the women's team is currently the 9-peat champions.

WNCAA

The San Beda Alabang girls' volleyball team won the 39th WNCAA championship title. They are the first juniors team to bring a volleyball championship title to their alma mater.

Soft tennis

The San Beda's women's soft tennis team, headed by team captain Alyana Victoria and head coach Jovy Mamawal, won two consecutive titles in the NCAA soft tennis event in Seasons 90 and 91. Aside from their championships, The Red Lionesses represented the country in the University Soft Tennis Championships in 2015 held at South Korea. [12]

The basketball tournaments of NCAA Season 89 are the Philippines' National Collegiate Athletic Association tournaments for basketball in its 2013–14 season. De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde hosted the season, starting with an opening ceremony held on June 22, 2013, at the Mall of Asia Arena followed by a double-header. Games then are subsequently being held at Filoil Flying V Arena, with men's games on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays aired on AksyonTV.

It is hosted by Mapua Institute of Technology and was opened on June 27, 2015, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay hosted by Andrei Felix and Myrtle Sarrosa and ended on March 8, 2016, with the Cheerleading Competition and closing ceremonies, as the final event held at the MOA Arena, also hosted by Felix and Sarrosa, together with Anton Roxas, Migs Bustos, Ceej Tantengco and Roxanne Montealegre.

The basketball tournaments of NCAA Season 91 were the Philippines' National Collegiate Athletic Association tournaments for the current season. The Mapua Institute of Technology hosted the season, started with an opening ceremony held on June 27, 2015, at the Mall of Asia Arena followed by a double-header. Games are expected to be followed at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan, with two seniors and juniors games. The men's games are aired live by ABS-CBN Sports and Action and in High Definition on Balls HD 167.

The volleyball tournaments of NCAA Season 91 started on November 30, 2015. The Colegio de San Juan de Letran is currently hosting the tournament. Games are played at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan, with two women's and men's games. The women's and men's semifinals' and finals' games are aired live by ABS-CBN Sports and Action and in High Definition on ABS-CBN Sports and Action HD 166.

Aurea Francesca "Cesca" Racraquin is a Filipino volleyball player of the collegiate varsity volleyball team of San Beda College that plays in the NCAA. Cesca played for the Creamline Cool Smashers in the Premier Volleyball League that debuted during the 2017 PVL Reinforced Conference.

The volleyball tournament of NCAA Season 93 started on January 4, 2018 at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan, Philippines. San Sebastian College – Recoletos (SSC–R) is the event host.

The NCAA Season 94 volleyball tournaments started on November 23, 2018 at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan, Philippines.

The NCAA Season 94 basketball tournaments are the 94th basketball season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines) (NCAA). The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA are the season hosts. Separate men's and juniors' tournaments are held for male college and high school students, respectively.
