St. Johann am Walde, also Sankt Johann am Walde is a municipality in the district of Braunau am Inn in the Austrian state of Upper Austria.

Austria, formal name: the Republic of Austria, is a country in Central Europe comprising 9 federated states. Its capital, largest city and one of nine states is Vienna. Sankt Johann lies in the Innviertel. About 65 percent of the municipality is forest and 32 percent farmland.

The Innviertel is a traditional Austrian region southeast of the Inn river. It forms the western part of the state of Upper Austria and borders the German state of Bavaria. The Innviertel is one of the four traditional "quarters" of Upper Austria, the others being Hausruckviertel, Mühlviertel, and Traunviertel.
