Shabla Place in Dobrich, Bulgaria

Shabla is a town and seaside resort in northeastern Bulgaria, administrative centre of the Shabla Municipality part of Dobrich Province. Shabla municipality includes the following villages: Bojanovo, Chernomortsi, Durankulak, Ezerets, Gorichane, Gorun, Granichar, Krapets, Prolez, Smin, Staevtsi, Tvarditsa, Tyulenovo, Vaklino and Zahari Stoyanovo. As of December 2009, the town itself had a population of 3,586 inhabitants. It is situated on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast in the vicinity of the salt-water Lake Shabla and Bulgaria's easternmost point, Cape Shabla.

Lake Shabla is a lagoon (liman) in the north-eastern Bulgaria, which separated from the Black Sea by the sandbar. The area of the water body is 0.8 km2, depth 0.4–4 m, salinity 0,4%. The lagoon is located on 3 km east from the town of Shabla.

Vaklino is a village in Shabla Municipality, Dobrich Province, northeastern Bulgaria. The village is located few minutes from the border with Romania. While the village of Vaklino is very quiet and uneventful, it is just across the border from Vama Veche, a Romanian town very popular among backpackers. From visitor's point of view, Vaklino has only an abandoned remnant of central square and no stores or services of any kind.
