Shunde College railway station (Chinese :顺德学院站), or New City Area Station (Chinese :新城区站), Shunde University Station (Chinese :顺德大学站), [1] is an elevated station of Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity Mass Rapid Transit. [2]

An elevated railway is a rapid transit railway with the tracks above street level on a viaduct or other elevated structure. The railway may be broad gauge, standard gauge, narrow gauge, light rail, monorail, or a suspension railway. Elevated railways are usually used in urban areas where there would otherwise be a large number of level crossings. Most of the time, the tracks of elevated railways that run on steel viaducts can be seen from street level.

The station is located at Fengshapian (Chinese :逢沙片), Daliang Street New City Area, Shunde District, Foshan, Guangdong, China, near Shunde Polytechnic (Chinese :顺德技术学院), i.e. Shunde University (Chinese :顺德大学). It is at the east of Bigui Lu (Chinese :碧桂路), the west of Desheng Lu (Chinese :德胜路) and in the middle of Guangzhou-Zhuhai Expressway West Line (Chinese :广珠西线高速公路) and Nanguo Donglu (Chinese :南国东路), near Lijiangsha Channel (Chinese :李家沙水道) and Guipan Sea (Chinese :桂畔海). The line started operation on 7 January, 2011, [3] but the opening date for the station was two years later, on February 1, 2013. [4]

Guangzhou–Zhuhai intercity railway or Guangzhu intercity railway is a dedicated, grade-separated regional railway linking Guangzhou South railway station in Panyu, Guangzhou, and Zhuhai Jinwan Airport in Zhuhai, via Shunde, Zhongshan and Jiangmen, in Guangdong province. It is the first line completed in the currently under construction Pearl River Delta Rapid Transit network. The section in Zhuhai from Zhuhai North to Zhuhai is also known as Line R1.

Zhuhai railway station, also called Gongbei station (拱北站), is an elevated station of the Guangzhou–Zhuhai intercity railway. It is located in the Gongbei Subdistrict (jiedao) of Xiangzhou in Zhuhai, Guangdong, China, besides the Gongbei Port and parallel to the border between mainland China and Macau. The station is the southern terminus for the Guangzhou ICR.

The Pearl River Delta Metropolitan Region Intercity Railway System is a regional higher-speed rail and commuter rail network being gradually constructed in the Pearl River Delta, People's Republic of China. The project's goal is to have every major urban center in the Yuegang'ao Greater Bay Area to be within one-hour travel by rail to Guangzhou. On March 16, 2005, the State Council examined and approved plans for a regional high-speed commuter rail network for the Jingjinji, Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta. According to the plan, by 2020, PRD MAIR network will have a total route mileage of about 600 kilometres (370 mi). In September 2009, the plan was expanded to 1,478 km (918 mi) of routes split up into 23 lines. In the long term vision network length will reach 1,890 km (1,170 mi) by 2030. By then the network will provide basic coverage to the Pearl River Delta region.

Zhuhai National High-Tech Industrial Development District was established in December, 1992 by the State Council of the People's Republic of China. It is also called Zhuhai National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone. It has an initial area of 9.8 square kilometers. Following a 1999 adjustment, it now includes four industrial parks: Nanping (南屏), Sanzao (三灶), Baijiao (白蕉) and Xinqing (新青), and an innovation coast.

Guangzhou–Foshan–Zhaoqing intercity railway, also known as Guangfozhao intercity railway or Foshan–Zhaoqing intercity railway, is a regional railway within Guangdong province, China. It connects the provincial capital of Guangzhou with Zhaoqing, via Foshan. It is a part of the Pearl River Delta Metropolitan Region intercity railway network. It commenced operations on March 30, 2016.
